A&E Posts Best January in Network History

On the heels of the sixth consecutive year of growth in 2009, A&E kicked off 2010 with the best January in network history among all key demos, including adults 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers. A&E posted incredible double-digit growth versus January 2009, finishing as the number 3 entertainment cable network among adults 25-54 and number 4 among adults 18-49 and total viewers.

January 2010 witnessed growth of 12% among adults 18-34 (379,000), 11% among adults 18-49 (851,000), 15% among adults 25-54 (917,000) and 13% in total viewers (1.8 miilion), versus January 2009. Fueled by the exceptional performance of A&E’s expansive slate of original programming, including the hit series “Intervention,” “Hoarders,” “Steven Segal Lawman,” “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and “Paranormal State,” the network finished January ahead of top networks including TBS, FX and Discovery among adults 25-54 and total viewers.

January 2010 also marks the 42nd consecutive month in which A&E has landed among the top 10 in adults 25-54 and 21st consecutive month in which the network has landed among the top 10 in adults 18-49 in prime versus all ad-supported cable networks.
