The recent launch of a new PRIME advertising campaign for the popular shows M*A*S*H, Magnum P.I. and All in the Family has some listeners outraged.
Within three days of the launch of the initial radio campaign for All in the Family – Still Outrageous, the campaign was pulled off the air by radio stations in Toronto. Deemed too controversial to broadcast, the All in the Family spot had to be censored for radio. Clips from Bunker were “beeped” and the promo was reissued.
Celebrated as one of television’s most influential programs, All in the Family debuted as a mid-season replacement in 1971 pioneering a whole new, frank, and hard-hitting television satire. The bigoted, opinionated and uneducated central character, Archie Bunker, outraged television audiences then and continues to stir passionate reactions today. Airing uncensored, on PRIME, All in the Family consistently ranks as one of the networks most popular programs.
The PRIME “Still” campaign, includes spots on television and radio, and in newspapers, magazines and posters, featuring M*A*S*H – Still Irreverent, Magnum P.I. – Still Charming, and All in the Family – Still Outrageous.
M*A*S*H, Magnum P.I. and All in the Family airs (uncensored) Monday to Friday. Please check your local listing for show times.
