Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises and Thunderbird Films announced today that they have sold the live-action comedy series, Mr. Young, to Disney XD channels in the U.S. and around the world.  Territories in addition to the U.S. include the U.K., Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.  The series will premiere in most territories this year.

Disney XD gears up for an adrenaline-filled Labour Day Monday with the season two premiere of Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil on Monday, September 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET. The premiere is part of a non-stop action lineup with a Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil marathon airing from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET, giving viewers the chance to celebrate Kick for an entire day. Disney XD, the new digital specialty channel and multiplatform brand from Astral Media Inc. (TSX: ACM.A/ACM.B) launches today in homes across Canada. Available in high definition, Disney XD will launch with Rogers Communications, Bell Satellite TV, Bell Fibe TV, EastLink and Delta Cable. Disney XD will be available through TELUS as of June 20, with additional distributors expected to offer the new kids’ channel in the coming months. Astral Media Inc.today announced that it will add to its slate of kid services with the launch of Disney XD on June 1, 2011. An advertiser-supported network and multi-platform brand, Disney XD will feature a range of live-action and animated programming for kids aged 6-14, with a focus on boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, adventure and humour, while still being inclusive of girl audiences.
