SunTV Unveils its 2009 Fall Schedule

Continuing with the successes of the past year, SUN TV is happy to bring back many of your favorite shows as well as some fresh and exciting new titles for the coming season. Our returning shows include; “60 Minutes”, “48 Hours Mystery”, “Boston Legal”, “Funniest Pets and People”, “Forensic Factor”, “World’s Most Amazing Videos”, “Smallville”, “Supernatural”, and “George Lopez”.

New to SUN TV’s prime time this fall are “20/20” Fridays at 10pm, and “The Insider” six nights a week at 7pm. Late night on SUN TV sees “Jimmy Kimmel Live” weeknights at midnight.

From BFF’s to DUI’s, baby rumors to secret weddings and everything inbetween, Lara Spencer will keep you up-to-date and bring you behind the scenes to cover all the hottest news from Hollywood to New York. When something big is happening in the life of glamorous celebrities, you will be the first to know watching The Insider.

As one of the most revered and recognized newsmagazines ever, 20/20 continues to deliver an hour of investigative and dedicated news coverage as it goes into its 32nd season. 20/20 is hosted by John Stossel and Elizabeth Vargas, and continues to be a leader in its genre with help from established contributors to the show such as Barbara Walters.

Jimmy Kimmel Live
Jimmy Kimmel Live brings a unique twist to the ordinary late night format. With a diverse lineup of guests ranging from celebrities, comedians, politicians, athletes, and human interest subjects, Jimmy Kimmel brings you the interviews along with a colorful cast of characters and their own house band, Cleto and the Cletones. Kimmel is the only late night show taped in the evening at 7:45, which allows it to
respond to the day’s events easier, giving it a more topical feel.

SUN TV’s daytime lineup includes the soap “One Life to Live” which has been on air for 41 years, followed by an afternoon of laughs with “Caroline in the City”, “Dave’s World”, “Dear John”, and “Taxi”. SUN TV will also continue to air our Weekend Matinee movies and the classic series “Fame” Saturdays at 4pm.

Mid-Season on SUN TV:

Coming mid-season, SUN TV will add four more high profile series to the schedule: The sensational comedies, “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine”, as well as the critically acclaimed dramas “Army Wives” and “Greek”. You can catch all of these programs from the first episode and see what critics have been raving about.

Everybody Hates Chris
The year is 1982 and Chris Rock has just turned 13. Follow him on this hilarious comedy as he narrates his way through the struggles of everyday life and growing up in New York. Being a target for bullies, Chris must use the skills we already know he has in his sharp wit and inherent charm to win over his friends and help him overcome the many experiences he will encounter at home, at school and on the bus.

The New Adventures of Old Christine
The New Adventures of Old Christine follows a 35 year old divorced mother of one as she navigates her way through the trials and tribulations of day to day life. The owner of a 30 minute female only gym; she must deal with the insecurities of her upbringing, the challenges of raising a teenage son who attends a posh private school and the judgmental stay-at-home moms whose sons attend the school. To go along with this her best friend and ex-husband has recently met a new younger Christine, hence the name Old Christine.

Army Wives
Army Wives follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women — and one man — living with their spouses and families on an active Army post. This Lifetime original series stars Catherine Bell, Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, and Sterling K. Brown.

ABC Family’s “GRΣΣK” focuses on college life, the social minefield that is the Greek system, and on a cast of characters who are trying to navigate their way through this treacherous terrain at Cyprus-Rhodes University.

Local In House Productions:
“Argos Access” is a new program being produced this year. Host Jacqui Delaney teams up with Mike “Pinball” Clemons to bring you an all-access and behind the scenes look at your Toronto Argonauts. Episodes will provide viewers’ with expert, insider analysis of the team’s performance on the field as well as behind the scenes meetings with players allowing viewers to see their personalities and compassion for the neighborhood and city of Toronto.

Informational, provocative, and always entertaining local in-house productions continue to thrive at SUN TV, produced with their convergence partners at SUN Media. “Canoe Live” breaks down the day’s events by providing analysis, debate and commentary with a point of view. “The Casino Rama Grill Room” continues to deliver daily, fast paced, high-energy talk about sports, featuring irreverent opinion from credible, connected panelists. As well, every weekend “Inside Jam!” serves up a slick, smart and funny roundup from the world of entertainment, shining the spotlight on the biggest stars in Hollywood and Hollywood North.

The hosts of these productions, Mike “Pinball” Clemons, Jacqui Delaney, Janette Luu, Gareth Wheeler, Tara Slone, Chris Van Vliet, and Matt Cauz bring a fresh perspective to any topic.
