One of the country’s brightest young sports journalists is coming to TSN, as the network today announced that sports reporter Mark Masters has joined Canada’s Sports Leader.
Masters will be TSN’s dedicated hockey reporter throughout the NHL season. His multiplatform reports will be featured on SPORTSCENTRE, TSN.ca, and across the network’s full slate of hockey programming, including the NHL ON TSN, THAT’S HOCKEY and THAT’S HOCKEY 2NITE.
“As a young journalist, Mark is driven, intuitive and, in a very short time, has earned the respect of his peers,” said Ken Volden, Vice-President and Executive Producer, Studio Production. “We are very excited to welcome Mark to the TSN broadcast team and look forward to his reports on the NHL.”
“I’m humbled to join the TSN team and work alongside some of the best sports journalists in the business,” said Masters. “I’ve always had a strong passion for sports, especially the NHL, so I’m looking forward to covering Canada’s favourite pastime and bringing enthusiasm and creativity to the job each day.”
Masters joined the National Post as a sports reporter in March 2010, where he became very familiar with the Toronto sports scene covering the Toronto Argonauts and the CFL. Masters was also a senior broadcast associate with Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium for the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES. He is a graduate of Carleton University’s prestigious journalism program and did play-by-play for the Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee-Gees on Rogers TV in Ottawa, as well as online on the Streaming Sports Network.
