CTV Comedy Channel confirmed today the premiere episode of new series MAD ABOUT YOU was the most-watched series debut in the channel’s history. Final data confirms that an audience of 434,000 viewers tuned in on Tuesday Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. ET, making MAD ABOUT YOU the #1 entertainment specialty program of the day and CTV Comedy the most watched specialty channel in its timeslot among Adults 25-54 and Women 18-49.

Airing Tuesdays with two, back-to-back episodes at 10 and 10:30 p.m.ET/PT, Paul Reiser and Academy Award®-winner Helen Hunt reprise their roles as Paul and Jamie Buchman in the new 12-episode, limited series, a continuation of the hit 90s series of the same name. MAD ABOUT YOU explores the fertile ground of modern marriage through the eyes of the Buchmans as newly minted empty-nesters after dropping daughter Mabel (Abby Quinn) off at college. The original sitcom ran for seven seasons from 1992-99 and has won 12 Emmys®, four Golden Globes®, and a Peabody Award.
The series continues Tuesday, Jan. 28 with the new episode “The Will to Live.” When a childhood friend of Paul and his cousin Ira’s (John Pankrow) has died, his funeral triggers Paul and Jamie’s concerns about mortality and getting their affairs in order. The episode is immediately followed by “Anderson Cooper and Other Fantasies” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT where Lisa double-books her celebrity pet-sitting obligations, and Jamie volunteers Paul to stay at Anderson Cooper’s place, allowing him his first bachelor night in years.
