YTV serves up a taste of new fall programming with Sneak Peek Week

YTV is getting geared up for fall this August with two week-long programming events, Sneak Peek Week where viewers can catch a glimpse of upcoming fall series, as well as five days of music-themed series and specials during Music Week. Plus, August brings two new episodes of iCarly and a premiere episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.

SNEAK PEEK WEEK ON YTV

Beginning on Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 4, YTV is giving viewers a chance to sample two new series launching this fall – Nickelodeon’s The Penguins of Madagascar as well as the Canadian original sketch comedy series for kids, That’s So Weird!

Adding to the excitement, Sneak Peek Week will feature a special one-hour episode of iCarly, iFight Shelby Marx, starring TV tween queen Miranda Cosgrove on Monday, August 31 at 6 p.m., as well as a premiere episode of SpongeBob SquarePants on Friday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m.

THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR – SNEAK PEEK

Produced by DreamWorks Animation, creator of the Academy Award® winning Shrek, in association with Nickelodeon, comes the CGI animated series The Penguins of Madagascar. The series centers around four cute yet mischievous penguins, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, as they carry out missions to maintain order and rule the roost in their habitat, New York’s Central Park Zoo. It’s not an easy feat for these determined little penguins as their nemesis and new party animal neighbour, King Julien and his lemur sidekicks Maurice and Mort, are always getting in their way. Viewers can catch premiere episodes for an entire week beginning Monday, August 31 at 5 p.m. (r) 8 p.m.

THAT’S SO WEIRD! – SNEAK PEEK

That’s So Weird! is what happens when seven teens band together to save So Weird TV, a third rate television network, where the programming is even weirder than the name. So Weird TV airs commercial parodies, bizarre game shows and features regular guest appearances by celebrities, athletes, and musicians. This sketch comedy series will provide a weekly slice of outrageousness for kids and their parents. Produced by Halifax Film and YTV, viewers can catch a special sneak peek episode on Friday, September 4 at 9 p.m.

MUSIC WEEK ON YTV

In celebration of the launch of YTV’s newest compilation CD Big Fun Party Mix, scheduled to hit stores on Tuesday, August 11, YTV is dedicating a week of programming to its love of music. From Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14, YTV is connecting with its inner beat with a week filled with music-themed movies, specials and viewers’ favourite series including iCarly, Drake & Josh and The Next Star. The event will come to a close with the blockbuster hit Spice World starring famed British pop group the Spice Girls on Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m. as part of Big Fun Fridays.

iCARLY: iWANT MY WEBSITE BACK – PREMIERE
When Nevel gets the iCarly URL from Carly, Sam and Freddie, he demands a kiss from Carly to get it back. Meanwhile, after accidentally ordering two hundred pillows, Spencer has some fun. iWant My Website Back premieres on Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m.

iCARLY: iFIGHT SHELBY MARX – PREMIERE
In this special one-hour episode of iCarly, Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) jokes on her web show about Shelby Marx, the best female fighter in the world, and then the fighter challenges Carly to an impromptu exhibition match. iFight Shelby Marx premieres on Monday, August 31 at 6 p.m.

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: HOUSE FANCY/KRABBY ROAD – PREMIERE
In this premiere episode Squidward helps SpongeBob redecorate his new house and SpongeBob gets his rock on as he and Plankton form a new band. SpongeBob SquarePants: House Fancy/Krabby Road premieres on YTV Friday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m.
