Doc Martin 5 begins November 16 on VisionTV

Posted November 2, 2011

This fast-paced drama with a comedic twist, an eccentric bunch of characters, and an enduring love story which has captivated viewers all over the globe, Doc Martin attracted more than 8 million viewers when it returned for its fifth season on September 12, 2011 in the UK. The second episode jumped to over 9 million. VisionTV is excited to be the first Broadcaster in North America to bring you the long awaited Season Five.

Set in the quaint village of Portwenn, Dr Martin Ellingham’s (Martin Clunes) brilliance as a doctor does not make up for his poor bedside manner or lack of social skills. The locals delight in tormenting him – whether they mean to or not. In this season he is scheduled to move back to London to start his new job, but his and Louisa’s baby has just been born and they have just declared their love for each other – but everything else remains unclear – including a name for the baby.

Maybe the joys of fatherhood will put a smile on his face?

Regarded as Britain’s most-watched drama after the soaps, Doc Martin is an award-winning comedy drama with a highly acclaimed cast and crew. Doc Martin has won the British Comedy Award for Best TV Comedy Drama and Martin Clunes has won the Best TV Comedy Actor award.
