TSN welcomes the next generation of NHL stars to the big leagues with live coverage of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, June 20, beginning at 7 p.m. ET and continuing through the first round. Live coverage of the Draft, which is being held in prime time for a second consecutive year, will also be available on TSN.ca and NHL Network.

James Duthie will host TSN’s coverage directly from the Draft stage at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, interviewing GMs and players following their selections. He will be joined by Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Pierre McGuire and Gord Miller, as they tee up Draft prospects and provide instant analysis. Hockey Insider Darren Dreger is reporting from the Draft floor and Sara Orlesky is conducting interviews with players and family members from the stands.

On the eve of the event (June 19), TSN presents the NHL on TSN Mock Draft Special at 7 p.m. ET. Hosted by Duthie from Ottawa, the live 30-minute special features McGuire acting as general manager, making all 30 first round picks on behalf of NHL teams in Draft order. McKenzie previews the top prospects. Consensus No. 1 draft pick Steven Stamkos will appear live, as the show takes an in-depth – and entertaining – look at the Tampa Bay Lightning website (www.seenstamkos.com) dedicated to familiarizing its fans with the Sarnia Sting forward. Stamkos is ranked first overall in TSN’s Top 60 Draft Prospects Rankings.

SportsCentre has extensive coverage of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, with features on top prospects Drew Doughty, Kyle Beach and Stamkos, along with reports on potential trades. Duthie, McGuire, McKenzie and Brent Wallace will be on-site in Ottawa filing daily reports beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) leading up to and following the Draft.

TSN.ca will have live first-round coverage of the Draft, along with in-depth features, reports and extended interviews from Ottawa.

NHL Network will be on-hand at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft with exclusive live coverage of Rounds 2 through 7 on Saturday, June 21, beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. Host Dan Pollard will be at Scotiabank Place, alongside analysts Brian Duff, Craig Button, Gary Green and Todd Lewis, offering expert analysis and interviews with key newsmakers. TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie will also provide additional analysis and insight from Round 2 of the Draft. NHL Network will also produce and televise a live one-hour NHL Draft Preview Show prior to Round 1 of the Draft on Friday, June 20 at 6 p.m. ET. Hosted by Pollard, the show will feature Lewis and Green conducting interviews with GMs, coaches and players on the Draft floor, with Button and Duff examining and evaluating the prospects. Following the first round, the NHL Network broadcast team will return for the NHL Draft Round 1 Postgame Show at 10 p.m. ET, with live coverage of all the latest news coming out of the Draft.
