Sportsnet Goes Deep With Multiplatform Coverage of 2012 NFL Season, Starting Sept. 9

Sportsnet delivers more in-depth premium NFL coverage than ever before with more than 80 games on television and radio, headlined by 14 Thursday Night Football games and two Sunday afternoon games at 4 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and Citytv, every week, all 2012 NFL season long. As the nation’s ultimate destination for all things NFL, Sportsnet connects fans with best-in-class multiplatform coverage across television, radio, digital, mobile and print. 

Sportsnet and Citytv will broadcast two NFL games every Sunday at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT throughout the regular season, providing Canadians with more access to the games they want to see.  Coverage begins on Sunday, Sept. 9 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Carolina Panthers at 4 p.m. ET/1p.m. PT on Sportsnet Ontario, West and Pacific, while the San Francisco 49ers face the Green Bay Packers at 4 p.m. ET/1p.m. PT on Sportsnet East and Citytv. Moving forward, Sportsnet and Citytv will announce the schedule for their Sunday afternoon broadcasts on a week-by-week basis.

Four days later, Sportsnet’s Thursday Night Football schedule kicks off with an NFL marquee rivalry, the Chicago Bears versus Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. ET (Sportsnet East, Ontario, West, Pacific).

Below are the key details of Sportsnet’s 2012 NFL coverage on all platforms:

TV- Sportsnet and Citytv

  •          Every Sunday throughout the NFL regular season, Sportsnet and Citytv will broadcast two NFL games at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT
  •          Sportsnet is home to 14 Thursday Night Football games for the 2012 regular-season. Highlights include the Buffalo Bills hosting the Miami Dolphins at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 15 and the U.S. Thanksgiving Day tripleheader on Thursday, Nov. 22 with Citytv presenting the afternoon games and Sportsnet providing coverage of the night cap featuring the New York Jets hosting the New England Patriots at 8 p.m. ET.   •          On Sunday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. ET, Citytv will provide coverage the Buffalo Bills leading the charge back to Toronto to take on the Seattle Seahawks
  •          Connected  provides breaking news and analysis throughout the entire 2012 NFL campaign, including setting the stage for the upcoming week every Thursday, and recapping the weekend’s action every Monday
