The wait is over. Fans of the sci-fi drama DOCTOR WHO and its hit spin-off series, TORCHWOOD will be over the moon when all-new episodes catapult onto SPACE for six thrill-filled nights. The adventure and suspense begins when the five-part television event TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH unfolds over five consecutive nights beginning Monday, July 20 at 10 p.m. ET. The voyages continue on Saturday, July 25 at 9 p.m. ET with the Canadian premiere of DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF THE DEAD. This is the first of the final four adventures of the tenth Time Lord. Episodes are available on demand at www.spacecast.com immediately following their television premiere.

Separate from the government, outside the police, and beyond the United Nations, Torchwood is a crack squad of charismatic agents who gather intelligence and protect humanity from alien threats. The highly anticipated Season 3 premiere TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH is one epic story told over five episodes. Led by the mysterious and enigmatic Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), the Torchwood team must come to terms with the death of their closest friends. Faced with their fiercest threat to date, the future of Torchwood and the entire human race hangs in the balance. Special guests Peter Capaldi (In The Loop), Paul Copely (CORONATION STREET, THE BILL) and Liz May Brice (BAD GIRLS, THE BILL) join returning cast members Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd, Kai Owen and Tom Price.

Television’s longest running science fiction series, and a global phenomenon, DOCTOR WHO triumphantly returns to Canadian television exclusively on SPACE with four all-new specials. Revealing the final exploits of the tenth Time Lord, DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF THE DEAD follows the Doctor (David Tennant) aboard a London double-decker bus on a detour to an alien world. Forced to work with the extraordinary Lady Christina (Michelle Ryan, BIONIC WOMAN), the Doctor soon discovers that the mysterious planet holds terrifying secrets hidden in the sand, and the deadly Swarm is getting closer.

TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH is created and written by Russell T. Davies with writers John Fay (CLOCKING OFF, CORONATION STREET) and James Moran. Executive Producers are Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner.

DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF THE DEAD and TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF THE EARTH are both directed by Euros Lyn, are BBC productions and distributed by BBC Worldwide Canada.
