STARGATE UNIVERSE’S (SGU) destiny has been revealed with a record breaking 2+ average minute audience of 565,000, making it SPACE’s highest rated single episode ever.* SGU was the #1 non sports specialty program of the day for 2+ and the key demographics of A25-54 and A18-49.* With two additional airings on Saturday, Oct. 3, SGU rocketed onto SPACE with a total reach of 2.3 million 2+ viewers.** After SGU’s edge-of-your-seat premiere unfolded, nearly 150,000 viewers stayed tuned as SPACE’s new original daily series INNERSPACE blasted onto the scene Friday, Oct. 2 at 11 p.m. ET.

SGU, the latest sci-fi drama series to reach record audiences on SPACE in 2009, launched onto SPACE with a special two-hour premiere, October 2 at 9 p.m. ET. In episode 2, premiering October 9 at 10 p.m. ET, the frantic search to save the crew continues as Lt. Scott and Dr. Rush travel to a desert planet to locate a mineral essential to the Destiny’s life support system.

Hot on the heels of the explosive SGU premiere, INNERSPACE took off with a special, one-hour episode featuring SGU star, Canadian actor Louis Ferreira. Dropping by the SPACE studio to weigh-in on the premiere, Ferreira and on-air personalities Teddy Wilson and Ajay Fry gave viewers an in-depth look into the making of the series, drawing an audience of 149,000.*

SGU settles into its regular 10 p.m. ET timeslot following the premiere of SPACE original series SANCTUARY Season 2 on Oct. 9. Starring Canadians Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne, in the premiere episode “End of Nights Part I”, through a desperate search to find her daughter, Dr. Magnus obtains top secret files that give clues to the Cabal’s catastrophic plan for the Sanctuary Network and her daughter’s devastating role in it.

A top ratings streak for SPACE, also scoring big numbers in ’09 were the series TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH with nearly one million viewers tuning in over its five-day run and mini-series TIN MAN, capturing 1.4 million Canadian viewers over three nights.***
