In keeping with tradition, Space celebrates this holiday season with its annual SPACE-MASprogramming feast. Beginning Saturday, Dec. 21 through to Sunday, Jan. 5, Space serves up 14 days chock full of fan-faves including two entire days of DOCTOR WHO programming, and a cavalcade of marathons.
On Christmas Eve and Day, viewers can spend CHRISTMAS WITH THE DOCTOR, as Space delivers a ship-load of DOCTOR WHO programming leading up to the highly-anticipated 2013 Christmas special, THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR. It all kicks offTuesday, Dec. 24, at 6 p. m. ET with a marathon of DOCTOR WHO Christmas specials from 2005 to 2012, and an encore airing of the docu-drama AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME. On Christmas morning at 10 a.m. ET fans can rise and shine to the history-making 50th Anniversary special, THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR. Last but not least at 8 p.m. ET Christmas Day, Space gives Whovians what they expect from SPACE-MAS with the Canadian premiere of the highly-anticipated Christmas special, THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR. The one-hour special is the final appearance of Matt Smith’s Doctor as he regenerates into a new incarnation, marking the first appearance of Peter Capaldi as the new Time Lord.
Outside the TARDIS, Space is stuffing stockings with marathons full of wizards, clones, dinosaurs, and…Nicolas Cage. Starting Saturday Dec. 21, Space visits Harry Potter for the holidays during the HOLIDAY HOGWARTS-A-THON (Saturday,Dec. 21 – Tuesday, Dec, 24). Then, viewers can catch up on Space’s hottest series with encore airings of every episode ofFACE OFF (Thursday, Dec. 26 – Sunday, Dec. 29). The action continues with the Space movie premiere of FACE/OFF, launching the NICOLAS CAGE-A-THON (Sunday, Dec. 29). And for those who aren’t caught up yet with Space’s critically-acclaimed, smash-hit original series, ORPHAN BLACK, Space is re-airing the entire first season (Friday, Jan. 3).
For those who are looking for a jolt out of their tryptophan-induced coma, SPACE-MAS serves up a smorgasbord of testosterone-fuelled marathons including THE END OF THE WORLD MARATHON (Tuesday, Dec. 31), MAN VS. MACHINE MARATHON (Wednesday, Jan. 1), DINOSAURS ON THE LOOSE MARATHON (Thursday, Jan. 2), and MEN KICKING ASS-A-THON (Saturday, Jan. 4 – Sunday, Jan. 5).

On Christmas Eve, Space time travels with Doctors past and present, revisiting all the DOCTOR WHO Christmas specials, starting with last year’s THE SNOWMAN at 6 p.m. ET. Viewers can also catch THE DOCTOR, THE WIDOW AND THE WARDROBE, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE END OF TIME PART 1 & 2, THE NEXT DOCTOR, THE VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED, THE RUNAWAY BRIDE, and THE CHRISTMAS INVASION.
On Christmas morning, Space unwraps a day of DOCTOR WHO programming starting with 50th anniversary special, THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR, at 10:15 a.m. ET, followed by Episodes 7 through 13 of Season 7, at 12 p.m. ET. Then, in true SPACE-MAS tradition, this year’s Christmas special, THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR, premieres at 8 p.m. ET.
In THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR, massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species, orbiting a quiet, backwater planet, gather to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
