Showcase, in association with Indian Grove Productions, announced today that Rossif Sutherland (ER, The Con Artist) has joined the second season of the hit series, King. Sutherland’s character will work alongside Lead Investigator Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis; The Cleaner, 24) and Detective Sergeant Derek Spears (Alan Van Sprang; The Tudors, Cra$h & Burn) on Toronto’s Major Crimes Task Force. King, a Showcase original series, returns to the schedule Winter 2012.

Last season, Jessica King, a seasoned police officer turned lead investigator for Toronto’s Major Crimes Task Force – a police unit equipped to handle the city’s toughest cases – struggled to gain the respect of her team and keep her marriage to Danny (Gabriel Hogan; Heartland, The Kennedys) intact. This season, Jess must meet the challenge of each case while juggling her pregnancy, her husband’s gambling and the changing dynamics of the team.

King also stars two-time Genie Award winner Tony Nardi (Cra$h & Burn) as Police Chief Peter Graci.

King is produced by Indian Grove Productions, in association with Shaw Media, and is filmed on set and on location in and around Toronto.
