Tricon Films & Television and IFC announced today that Tricon will serve as the exclusive worldwide distributor of the network’s slate of “slightly off” original scripted comedies.  Under this deal, the first two IFC series Tricon is bringing to the international marketplace are Comedy Bang! Bang! (10×30) and Bunk(10×30).  The deal was brokered by Tricon’s Jon Rutherford, senior vice president distribution & business development and IFC’s Laura Sher, senior vice president of legal & business affairs.

Hosted by Scott Aukerman (co-creator/director/producer, Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis) and musical cohort Reggie Watts (Conan), Comedy Bang! Bang! packs character cameos, sketches, and nonstop comedic absurdity with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men).  Bunk is an exciting new breed of “comedy game show” in which a trio of comedians compete in a series of bizarre challenges to win surreal prizes. Each week, contestants are armed with nothing more than their wits and fertile imaginations as they complete offbeat games and challenges to win a myriad of “non-charitable causes” such as the ability to travel back in time, having a priest supply an alibi, and trading lives with a baby.

“IFC has been attracting an incredible line up of marquee talent to their brand, and we look forward to partnering with them to bring this new slate of programming to viewers around the world,” said Andrea Gorfolova, President, Tricon Films & Television.

Commented Jennifer Caserta, IFC’s President & General Manager: “With a history of distributing comedy programming, Tricon realizes and appreciates the value of IFC’s original series and shares our creative sensibilities.  They are the perfect partner to help IFC reach overseas audiences who enjoy our distinct brand of alternative comedy.”
