Hauling a submarine over dry land, transporting a fleet of mega-yachts across the Atlantic, and relocating a town sitting on a gold mine – these are just a few of the daunting challenges faced by the extreme engineers of MONSTER MOVES. Premiering Tuesday, July 3 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT on Discovery Science, this dramatic six-part series follows the adventures of huge movers across land, sea and through the air, as they transport monstrous structures that were never meant to leave their foundations.

MONSTER MOVES – “Supersize Submarine”

Tuesday, July 3 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

A daring team of marine engineers attempt to move a colossal British-built submarine – the Cold War “O”-Boat Onondaga – 1,126 kilometres across water and land in Canada. Through narrow locks and up a perilously steep railway, the epic journey almost ends in disaster as the 1,400-ton vessel dramatically topples over on a beach as it is hauled out of the sea onto dry land.

MONSTER MOVES – “Titanic Towns”

Tuesday, July 10 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

Two teams of building movers race against time to save two towns under threat. In Quebec, a crew attempts to relocate more than 170 homes that are sitting on top of five-billion dollars’ worth of gold. In North Carolina, a second team attempts to move a suburb of colossal historic mansions – weighing 200 tons each – across the bustling city to rescue them from demolition.

MONSTER MOVES – “Millionaire’s Mega Yachts”

Tuesday, July 17 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

A team of marine engineers attempt to transport a fleet of mega-yachts worth over 100-million dollars from Genoa, Italy to Fort Lauderdale in Florida. Dutch engineers have created the world’s first customized “submersible” yacht transporter-ship to ferry the luxurious pleasure boats. But when they encounter a powerful hurricane half way through the 8,000-kilometre voyage, the ship runs into potential disaster.

Also this season on MONSTER MOVES: Two teams of building movers take on the precarious challenge of moving two massive mansions each worth over one million dollars for their owners (“Millionaire’s Dollar Mansions,” July 24). In Salem, Massachusetts, America’s leading mansion mover, Jerry Matyiko, attempts to shatter records by lifting and moving a 1,200-ton church more than 100 metres to a new site (“Colossal Courthouse,” July 31). Heavy hauler Jeremy Patterson faces the titanic task of hauling one of America’s largest and most famous steamships, SS President, almost 160 kilometres across sea and land in St. Louis (“Supersize Steamship,” August 7).

MONSTER MOVES is produced for Discovery Science by Cineflix.
