The Closer returns for a provocative and unpredictable seventh and final season

Posted June 27, 2011

Kyra Sedgwick returns in her Golden Globe and Emmy winning role as unorthodox Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson to defend herself and close her last cases. The seventh season of the immensely popular, award-winning drama The Closer will be its last – and its most provocative. Be there for the end of an unforgettable ride with the premiere July 18 at 9 p.m. E.T on Super Channel, Canada’s only English national pay television network.

Deputy Police Chief Johnson has to face the repercussions of past decisions and the implications for her future as she faces a lawsuit, an audit of her unit and the reorganization of her department. While she finds herself on the other side of the table pleading her own case, she may not get support from anyone in the LAPD if she’s not careful. Meanwhile, her case load grows and her Captain is breathing down her back. Will her uncanny ability to get confessions out of suspects save her this time?

This season will be extended by six extra episodes and will see a full-time role for Captain Raydor played by two-time Academy Award nominee Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) – recently announced as the star of the spin-off series Major Crimes.

Co-starring J.K. Simmons and Corey Reynolds.

Guest stars include TV and movie veterans Curtis Armstrong (Revenge of the Nerds) and Mark Pellegrino (Lost, The Big Lebowski).

Mondays at 9 p.m. ET

Get ready for the end of a chapter with the two-day Season 6 marathon beginning July 16 and 17 at 12 p.m. each day.
