GETTING ON, HBO’s offbeat comedy that follows the dysfunctional staffers of a geriatric wardwho struggle to keep their composure in the face of patient challenges and medical bureaucracy, returns for a third and final season. Premiering Sunday, Nov. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada, day-and-date with HBO in the U.S., the series is helmed byMark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, creators and executive producers of BIG LOVE, and stars Laurie Metcalf (ROSEANNE), Niecy Nash(RENO 911!) in her Emmy®-nominated role, and Alex Borstein(FAMILY GUY).
Set eight months after the conclusion of Season 2, new episodesfind Dr. Jenna James (Metcalf) determined to put the corporate-hospice scandal behind her, while pushing her research ambitionsfurther than ever before. Nurse DiDi (Nash) emerges as a unionleader amidst a family drama that finds its way onto the ward, while newly married Nurse Dawn (Borstein) struggles to makesense of her new responsibilities and uncertain future, continuingto circle the orbit of male Supervising Nurse Patsy (Mel Rodriguez, BETTER CALL SAUL), who’s looking to embrace a new lifestyle.These personal stories play out against the backdrop of Billy Barnes’ threatened demise and the fight to keep the ward (and hospital) alive.
