From newborn reality star ‘octo-mom’ to the scandalous Miss USA’s Carrie Prejean…many have made headlines over the past year, but only a select few have made Barbara Walters’s coveted short list for 2009.

On Wednesday, December 9 – 10pm ET/PT, Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 makes its highly anticipated premiere on Global.

The annual one-hour special hosted by the legendary journalist and television icon includes the most prominent names in entertainment, sports, politics and pop culture. Among this year’s roster of newsmakers are shock songstress Lady Gaga, producer and sitcom creator Tyler Perry, controversial politician turned author Sarah Palin, musical newcomer Adam Lambert, NFL star Brett Favre, reality mom Kate Gosselin and political commentator Glenn Beck. The Top Three most fascinating people of 2009 will be revealed during the broadcast special.

Known for her relentless interview style, Barbara will ask the tough questions that viewers want to know. Find out what’s on their minds and who will top the list of 2009.
