Over 1.7 Million Canadians Tune into THE PEOLPLE’S CHOICE

The flurry of the glamorous and exciting red carpet awards season is finally back, and Global kicked it all off with the 39th Annual People’s Choice last night.

Hollywood’s A-listers including the likes of LL Cool J, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Sandra Bullock and Taylor Swift showed devoted fans their appreciation, and it proved a winning combination as Global took top spot Wednesday night with over 1.7 million viewers (2+, national); 776,000 (Adults 18-49, national).

The awards broadcast grew nationally year-over-year by 6% (2+), and dominated social media with the stars trending during their respective appearances resulting in over 5.37 millioncomments according to Trendrr.TV.

 

Fans have a lot more to look forward to in the coming weeks on Global with the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 27 – 8pm ET/PT fêting celebrities such as Daniel Day Lewis, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence. Then it’s the55th Annual GRAMMY Awards with the incomparable LL Cool J returning as host for music’s biggest night of the year on Sunday, February 10 – 8pm ET/PT.
