Global Launches Its Fall 2011 Schedule Beginning Tuesday, September 13

Ramping up for television’s most exciting season, it’s all about star power and Global has it in spades. From the network’s buzz-worthy selection of new series and its stable slate of returning favourites, the new fall schedule boasts an incredible roster of talent across the board.

Among Global’s existing lineup, there’s no shortage of A-list pedigree with all new seasons of Survivor: South Pacific (Wednesday, September 14 – 8pm ET/PT), Hawaii Five-0, last year’s #1 new drama(Monday, September 19 – 10pm ET/PT), Glee (Tuesday, September 20 – 8pm ET/PT), NCIS: LA (Tuesday, September 20 – 9pm ET/PT), The Good Wife (Sunday, September 25 – 10pm ET/PT), House (Monday, October 3 – 9pm) and Bones (Thursday, November 3 – 9pm ET/PT), just to name a few.

Now adding to this, the gritty crime series Prime Suspect premieresThursday, September 22 – 10pm ET/PT. The highly anticipated new drama that is creating an early sensation, stars Maria Bello (A History of Violence) in the lead role as Jane Timoney, the tough-as-nails detective who doesn’t know when to quit. Outside of being rude and reckless, she’s a brilliant cop always remaining focused on one thing: the prime suspect. The series also co-stars Aidan Quinn (Legends of the Fall) and is directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights).

Global also launches its new Thursday primetime comedy block beginning that same night. Season eight of The Office kicks off the lineup and loyal fans can tune in on September 22 at 9pm ET/PT to find out who will take over the reins at the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. And what happens after your husband of 18 years tells you he is gay? Fran Drescher shares the hilarity of this situation in her new seriesHappily Divorced at 9:30pm. The following week on September 29 – 8:30pm ET/PTHow to be a Gentleman gives new meaning to the term “life coach.” Andrew (David Hornsby, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) is an uptight man who learns to live his life with the help of his old high school classmate, Bert (Kevin Dillon, Entourage), a genial guy who doesn’t quite grasp the concept of boundaries. Canadian Dave Foley also stars in this new comedy.

Kicking off the network’s fall schedule onTuesday, September 13 – 10pm ET/PT, Global keeps it in the family with Parenthood. Set around the large and colorful Braverman household living amidst love and dysfunction, the series stars Peter Krause (Six Feet Under), Dax Shepherd (Baby Mama), Erika Christensen (Traffic) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls). The critically-acclaimed series makes its Global debut with an all-new season three.

Harry’s Law, another new series coming to the Global primetime schedule stars Oscar® winner Kathy Bates (Misery) as the curmudgeonly Ms. Harry Korn. Created by Emmy® Award-winning writer/producer David E. Kelley (Boston Legal), season two premieres Wednesday, September 21 – 9pm ET/PT. Fans can expect higher stakes cases, new energy and even more drama as Harry continues to lay down the law.

At the week’s end, fans will have a lot to look forward to when A Gifted Man premieres on Friday, September 23 – 8pm ET/PT. An exceptional neurosurgeon’s life is changed forever when his deceased ex-wife begins to teach him the meaning of life from the “hereafter.” The series stars Patrick Wilson (HBO’s Angels in AmericaThe A-Team) as Dr. Michael Holt.

Finally, Global’s animation night returns in full force on Sunday, September 25 starting at 8pm ET/PT with The SimpsonsThe Cleveland Show (8:30pm) and Family Guy (9pm), American Dad (9:30pm). The new animated series, Allen Gregory joins the powerhouse lineup as of October 30.
