As Canada’s winter athletes compete for gold at the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES on CTV, viewers can still watch their favourite CTV programs – in simulcast – on /A\, February 12 – 28 (visit Atv.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Following this morning’s Olympic broadcast announcement, CTV announced today a two-week plan to converge the current CTV and /A\ schedule into one during the Games. /A\ Atlantic will feature CTV’s Vancouver 2010 schedule, bringing the Winter Olympic Games to viewers in Newfoundland.

Without skipping a beat, viewers can keep up with their favourite CTV programs on /A\, including GREY’S ANATOMY, AMERICAN IDOL, LOST, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, TWO AND A HALF MEN, THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE MENTALIST, CSI, new series HUMAN TARGET and more. Viewers can also stay up to speed with /A\ programming such as PRIVATE PRACTICE and CASTLE as well, in addition to the new detective series PAST LIFE, premiering February 11.

“We’re giving viewers the opportunity to keep up with their favourite programs on /A\ while the nation’s Olympic moments play out on CTV,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “/A\ will be Canada’s #1 destination for television’s must-see entertainment programs throughout the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES.”

Daytime favourites LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY (9 a.m.), THE VIEW (11 a.m.), THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (2 p.m.), DR. PHIL (12 p.m.), THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW (4 p.m.), and DR. OZ (5 p.m.) will also find temporary homes on /A\ along with late-night fixtures THE COLBERT REPORT (11:30 p.m.) and THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART (12 p.m.).

Beginning March 1, 2010 CTV and /A\ will return to their regular schedules.

Following the broadcast premieres, episodes of CTV and /A\ series will continue to be made available on-demand on The CTV Video Player at CTV.ca, Canada’s most popular online destination for network television video.
