It was recently announced that METRO14 was purchased by Rogers Media off Channel Zero. Now it seems we see the first noticable changes to the schedule.
WEEKDAYS
About the only show remaining from the current schedule is Metro Debut, wich also gains an hour, now from 7am to 10am. At 10am, it’s Cityline. Mondays only, you’ll see a two hours block with Noi Oggi,Revival, Liga Logia and Edo Kai Tora. The rest of the week you’ll see the Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi and Portuguese National Edition of OMNI News.
At 1pm and 2pm, various programming airs throughout the week including Chum Yi, And Who are You?, Sinking the Gustloff and Bitter Coffee.
Late afternoon makes room for a little daytime soap with General Hospital. At 4pm and 4:30pm, Judge Judy takes the air followed by comedies 30 Rock, the Office and two episodes of Two and a Half Men starting at 6pm.
PRIMETIME
Everything you watched on METRO14 last week is gone, replaced with various editions of OMNI News. Things start off at 8pm with the one hour Italian edition, followed at 9pm by the 30 minutes editions in Cantonese and mandarin. At 10pm you’ll be able to see Murdoch Mysteries followed by more OMNI News, this time in Punjabi at 11pm and Portuguese national edition at 11:30pm.
On saturday, Palace airs at 8pm followed by a movie at 9pm while on sundays, OMNI News: Mandarin Weekend edition at 8pm and OMNI News: Business at 9pm followed by Trendy Zone and two episodes of The Quon Dynasty.
LATENIGHT
On weeknights, Jimmy Kimmel is gone, replace with two episodes of Seinfeld followed by Two and a Half Men and The Office. the rest of the night is followed with Judge Joe Brown, Maury Povich, Cold Case and Cityline. The late night concludes with OMNI News: Italian Edition.
As you can see, The Secret Circle, Nightline, JKL, 20/20, 48 Hours Mystery, 60 Minutes and other shows you were used to see on METRO14 is out the window.
FALL SCHEDULE
This fall, the primetime schedule will be injected with more programs from Citytv (after all, it’s called Citytv Montreal, not OMNI Montreal). New fall shows Revolution, The Bachelor Canada and Partners will join the schedule on mondays. Other shows currently airing on Citytv will also join the schedule like How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, scandal and Fringe.
