Stephen Hurlbut, Vice-President, News Programming, Citytv and Vice-President and General Manager, CP24, is pleased to announce Ann Rohmer has joined “CityNews Tonight” as Co-Anchor effective Monday, September 11th.

“Ann has been at the center of our major initiatives since joining Citytv over 20 years ago. She helped make “BreakfastTelevision” Toronto’s Number One Morning Show and she helped make CP24 Toronto’s Number One News Channel,” said Stephen Hurlbut, Vice-President, News, Citytv and Vice-President and General Manager, CP24. “Ann Rohmer and Mark Dailey will be Toronto’s Number One Late Night Local Team.”

With a career than spans over 25 years in Canadian television, Ann Rohmer is a familiar, much-loved face to Citytv viewers. She came onto the TV scene in 1979, as host of the internationally syndicated “Show Biz”. After stints at other national broadcasters, Ann joined Citytv in 1986, as the “CityPulse Weekend” Sports Anchor. Three years later, she jumped at the chance to host Citytv’s new morning show, “BT-BreakfastTelevision”, a position she held for 12 years. In October 2001, Ann moved over to CP24, CHUM’s 24-hour News Channel, as News Anchor.

Ann has been the recipient of numerous Awards including Toronto Sun’s Favorite Television Personalities (1994, 1999), the Gordon Sinclair Award for “Excellence in Broadcasting” and the Variety Children’s Charity Outstanding Community Volunteer. Ann will join Co-Anchor Mark Dailey on “CityNews Tonight” beginning Monday, September 11th at 11:00pm.
