The Alouettes Fever begins This Thursday: RDS broadcasts Every Game From the Reigning CFL Champion, Including Pre-season Matchups

RDS, the official broadcaster of the Montreal Alouettes, will have full coverage of the Alouettes’ 2011 season, including pre-season matchups and all 18 regular season games.

Head coach Marc Trestman will returns to guide the Alouettes, where he can count on a number of key returning players including Anthony Calvillo, Étienne Boulay and Jamel Richardson. As the reigning CFL champion and winner of the last two Grey Cups, the Alouettes will kick off the new season on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET, as they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in pre-season action (see complete broadcast schedule below).

Marc Labrecque and Matthieu Proulx – former CFL player and member of the Alouettes until 2010 – will join RDS’ Alouettes football broadcast team this year as host and analyst. The duo will headline the pre-game, half-time and post-game shows. Denis Casavant and Pierre Vercheval will be returning to provide play-by-play and colour commentary for an 8th consecutive year. 2011 will be Vercheval’s 10th full season as Alouettes football commentator and analyst on RDS.

Furthermore, journalist Didier Orméjuste will be report on all Alouettes-related news throughout the season for SPORTS 30.

In addition to broadcasting the full Alouettes season, RDS will also be presenting the CFL playoffs as well as the 99th GREY CUP live from Vancouver’s BC Place in November.
