LUCIFER got off to a devilishly good start last night on CTV, as preliminary overnight data from Numeris reveals 1.7 million viewers were drawn to the series premiere. Bolstering CTV’s already booming mid-season schedule, LUCIFER becomes the third most-watched series premiere of the season, behind CTV’s THE X-FILES and QUANTICO.
Leading into LUCIFER, Part 2 of THE X-FILES two-night debut saw 2 million viewers watch in the series’ regular Monday timeslot, making it the most-watched program of the day with total viewers and all key demos. Overall, the re-opening ofTHE X-FILES and lure of LUCIFER led the way for a scorching hot Monday on CTV with the Top 2 programs of the night with total viewers and all key demos.
CTV’s 2016 midseason schedule is off to an impressive start. With full playback data still to be released, CTV now claims the Top 3 midseason debuts with THE X-FILES (#1), LUCIFER (#2), and DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (#3). Meanwhile, with one day of playback, THE X-FILES has now delivered 2.8 million viewers for its Sunday-night premiere.
In an all-new episode of THE X-FILES entitled “Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-monster”, (Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), when a dead body is found in the woods, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny, CALIFORNICATION) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson, THE FALL) are called in to investigate whether it was an animal attack, a serial killer, or just maybe a strange creature as described by an eyewitnesses. Meanwhile, Mulder is able to confront some of his own demons about feeling disillusioned with his life’s work.
On next week’s episode of LUCIFER entitled “Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil” (Feb. 1 at9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), when a movie star’s son is killed after being chased by the paparazzi, Chloe (Lauren German) takes a deep look into the case with a little help from Lucifer (Tom Ellis). Meanwhile, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) continue to encourage Lucifer to go back to hell.
