| French Classified Ad Channel TATV Shutting Down |

Astral Media Radio, a division of Astral Media Inc. today announced the closure of its on-line and television classified ad division TATV, previously Télé-Annonces. The decision to shut down this service will take effect immediately. The closure will result in a reduction of 28 full-time and ten part-time positions in Québec.
“The decision to shut down TATV was very difficult for us to make,” said Pierre Rodrigue, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for Astral Media Radio Québec. “We evaluated several different possible strategies before reaching this decision. However, the growing market share of classified ads using the free Internet model, coupled with the fact that classified ads are not one of our company’s core businesses, forced us to close the division.”
“We thank the employees of TATV for their many years of dedication,” added Mr. Rodrigue. Meetings are being held to inform the people affected by this situation and we are making every effort to help our employees make the transition to other employment.”
