Look out Whistler! MuchMusic announced today that VJs Sarah Taylor, Tim Deegan, B.C. native Jesse Giddings, and Liz Trinnear are about to tear up the town when they roar into Whistler as hosts of MOD LIVE @ THE BASE. The fearless foursome co-host the high-energy show airing February 12 to 28 at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) and 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT). MuchMusic is also the proud exclusive broadcaster of the VANCOUVER 2010 CONCERT SERIES PRESENTED BY BELL, the official Vancouver and Whistler Victory Ceremony concerts, airing each night at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT).

MuchMusic VJ Devon Soltendieck takes fans in Whistler on one heck of a ride as he hosts Whistler Live!, an unprecedented festival where the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games come to life with a stellar fusion of sport and entertainment. From February 12 to 28, Soltendieck hosts the 17-day festival that sees Whistler's wintery pedestrian village pulsating from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. PT. A diverse range of free and unique Whistler Live! experiences deliver fans a dazzling taste of Whistler's iconic mountain culture.

MuchMusic’s Gemini-nominated, breakout original series DISBAND makes its triumphant rock ‘n roll return on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. ET. With one jam packed audition sneak peak and 13 brand new episodes, DISBAND’s Season 2 puts aspiring bands through a one week rock star boot camp. Under the watchful eye of DISBAND Guru Greig Nori and host Much VJ Sarah Taylor, the bands receive direct industry exposure, an all-important, true-to-life insider’s look at what the music biz is really all about, and a chance to perform in front of the country’s music industry elite. A panel of judges decide if their future is bright enough to be in the music biz or, if not, to DISBAND. The 13 new artists chosen for Season 2 to be announced soon.

Now these eight semi-finalists go head-to-head in a series of jaw-biting, take-no-prisoners challenges to secure a spot in the Final Four. And then there were 16. After nearly 4000 VJ wannabes applied, only the hottest and coolest were left standing as MuchMusic announced the remaining candidates for the sickest job in the country. Applicants from across Canada battled it out on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter®, and MySpace™. Fans all over the country connected with applicants at muchmusic.com giving 16 potential VJs the chance to become a Canadian icon. The Top 16 represent 13 cities from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island. But for MuchMusic fans, the competition is about to heat up even more. Fans can hit up muchmusic.com until Oct. 25 to support and interact with their favorite VJ hopefuls. Then it’s adios to half the VJ candidates as the Top 16 is narrowed down to eight semi-finalists on Monday, Oct. 26.
