After the British Columbia band These Kids Wear Crowns appeared on Season 2 of the Gemini-nominated series, the group secured a worldwide record deal with Capitol Records/EMI Music Canada. Now, fans can watch a continuation of their DISBAND journey in the one-hour, follow-up special, DISBAND DISCOVERED: THESE KIDS WEAR CROWNS on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on MuchMusic. After the episode, MuchMusic goes live to the band outside the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood to introduce the world premiere of their MuchFACT video "Break It Up".

From pop to rock to hip-hop, today's hottest artists vie for the coveted Moonman award at the 2010 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, airing live in Canada on Sunday, September 12 at 9 p.m. ET on MuchMusic. MTV announced today the nominees with Lady Gaga leading the way with an incredible thirteen nods including “Best Pop Video,” “Best Female Video” and “Best Dance Music Video” for her global chart-topping hit “Bad Romance.” No stranger to breaking records, Gaga can now boast having the most nominations ever in a single VMA as well as being the first female artist nominated for two different videos in the “Video of the Year” category for “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé. Coming off the success of his latest album, Eminem is this year’s most nominated male artist, racking up eight nominations including “Best Male Video,” and “Video of the Year” for “Not Afraid.” VMA newcomer Ke$ha is up for three Moonmen for “Tik Tok” while up and coming rapper B.o.B has an impressive five nominations including in the “Best Hip-Hop” category for “Airplanes” against “Forever” by Drake. Other artists receiving first time VMA nominations are Justin Bieber for “Best New Artist” for his hit single “Baby,” indie favorite Florence + The Machine with five noms for “Dog Days Are Over” and Jason Derulo for “In My Head.” In addition, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, P!nk, 30 Seconds To Mars, Katy Perry and Usher are also nominated for Moonmen this year. It’s official. DEGRASSI ’s new format is a hit with audiences! During its first week of its new telenovela format, DEGRASSI won its timeslot (9 – 9:30 p.m. ET) Monday to Thursday with MuchMusic’s key demo of P12 – 34 amongst all Canadian and US Speciality Networks. Within its first week, DEGRASSI also became the station’s second most-watched series this broadcast year to date with P12 – 34 audiences and in overall viewership. And more than one million viewers tuned in to watch the first week of DEGRASSI on its new, exclusive home, MuchMusic.

The 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS ratings say it all – fans watched on June 20 in record numbers and they continue to watch and re-watch. The 2010 MMVAs has smashed previous viewership numbers for the channel, boosted artist sales, and dramatically increased the traffic on muchmusic.com. In total, the MMVAs reached more than 4.5 million viewers on June 20.(1) The show was the most-watched program of the day for teens and P12-34 across all Canadian Conventional television as well as Canadian and U.S. specialty channels. It was also the most-watched program among total viewers and A18-34 across all Canadian and U.S. specialty channels. (2)
