SUPER BOWL XLIV is the most-watched SUPER BOWL ever with a record audience of 6.7 million viewers in Canada on CTV (6.025 million) and RDS (650,000) last night. Preliminary overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that the New Orleans Saints’ 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday is the second biggest audience for any broadcast on Canadian television since 1994.* Overall, an astonishing 16.64 million viewers – or one in two Canadians – tuned in to some or all of the broadcast on CTV or RDS.

| Sports Programming: NFL and CTV Extend Multi-Year Broadcast Deal |

The National Football League, together with CTV, have announced a four-year extension of its broadcast partnership giving CTV exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to the NFL championship game through to Super Bowl XLVIII. The deal comes on the heels of last night's Super Bowl XLIV broadcast and at the end of an incredibly successful year for the NFL on Canadian television, with record-setting playoff audiences and CTV's most-watched regular season audience ever.

CTV announced today its acquisition of the new big-buzz reality series UNDERCOVER BOSS, premiering immediately after CTV’s broadcast of SUPER BOWL XLIV on Sunday, February 7 at approx. 10 p.m. ET (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). The hour-long series follows high-level chief executives as they slip anonymously into the rank and file of their companies. Additional scheduling details will be announced next week following the SUPER BOWL.

The biggest party in North America hits CTV as the SUPER BOWL takes centre stage this Sunday. CTV’s exclusive Canadian coverage of SUPER BOWL XLIV, featuring the Indianapolis Colts taking on the New Orleans Saints, airs nationally on Sunday, Feb. 7 in High Definition from Miami. After first crashing onto CTV on October 2, 2004, the multiple award-winning series LOST comes to and end with one final season of mind-bending twists and turns, beginning February 2. But with exactly two weeks ago until the premiere, CTV goes back to the beginning and gives viewers a chance to prep for the big premiere with additional buzz-building programming: an encore presentation of the Season 5 finale (Jan. 26); a special re-broadcast of the original 2004 Season 1 “Pilot” episode (Jan. 31), and a LOST highlight special recapping the past five seasons (Jan. 31). It’s the perfect primer for LOST fans new and old leading up to the sixth and final season, premiering Tuesday, February 2 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). LOST, the final season, also premieres Thursday, February 4 at 9 p.m. ET on SPACE.

CTV’s HUMAN TARGET continues to build momentum as 1.36 million Canadians tuned in to Episode 2 last night on CTV. Out of simulcast, HUMAN TARGET bested 24 (Global/FOX, 1.33 million) and THE BACHELOR (Citytv/ABC, 1.06 million) with total viewers, winning its 8 p.m. timeslot. Last night’s episode was up from Friday’s series debut, hitting all the targets with increases in key demos across the board: up 8% with total viewers, 149% with A18-34, 25% with A18-49, and 15% with CTV’s key demo A25-54.

CTV’s newest drama, HUMAN TARGET, shot for the top and blew away the competition Friday night as 1.26 million Canadians watched the series premiere. HUMAN TARGET was the #1 program of the day among total viewers* and CTV’s key A25-54 demo. As the high-octane episode unfolded, viewers jumped on board with audiences growing from first half to second half of the hour-long drama. The adrenaline-fueled drama moves to its regular timeslot, Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, beginning tonight with Episode 2 (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

Canada is laughing as CTV’s new Monday night comedy block of TWO AND HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered its biggest audiences ever last night with 2.28 million and 2.1 million viewers respectively on CTV. Winning the night over a new episode of HOUSE (Global, 2.17 million), TWO AND A HALF MEN was the most-watched program Monday in Canada with total viewers and both A18-49 and A18-34. Meanwhile, THE BIG BANG THEORY won its timeslot with total viewers and key demos.
