Lions and tigers and bears – oh my! The only channel exclusively dedicated to the relationship between humans and animals, Animal Planet unleashes the beasts – and reveals a new look – this July during a national freeview. Taking a bite out of summer with free access from July 1 to 31, 2008, Animal Planet will debut a packed slate of dynamic – and sometimes dangerous! – new series and specials throughout the freeview period.* During the July freeview period alone, Animal Planet will launch nine new series and four new specials – an ideal occasion for current and new viewers alike to sample the wilder side of the channel.

The 1988 film Gorillas In the Mist immortalized the life of gorilla conservationist Dian Fossey. For the first time since the movie was made, Sigourney Weaver, who portrayed Fossey in the film, returns to Africa to revisit the mountain gorillas she befriended nearly 20 years ago. Premiering Wed., Nov. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT on Animal Planet, Gorillas Revisited with Sigourney Weaver follows the actress on her personal and emotional journey through the mountains of central Africa to discover how things have things changed for these primates since her last encounter with them.
