With Movie Central EXPRESS, Subscribers Watch What They Want, When They Want

Corus Entertainment Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc. announced today the introduction of Canada's first subscription-based Video-on-Demand (SVOD) service, Movie Central EXPRESS. SVOD technology allows a customer to access a library of feature films and series from major Hollywood studios and other program providers on a video-on-demand basis, while paying a monthly subscription fee rather than a per transaction fee. Movie Central EXPRESS will be launched in Calgary in November 2002.

Corus Entertainment To Launch W, A Revitalized Women’s Television Network

Corus Entertainment Inc. announced today that its women’s specialty television network (WTN) will be re-launched on Monday, April 15 with the shortened name, W, a revamped program schedule, and for the first time, a dual feed of its signal to better serve Western Canadian viewers. Corus also announced that W has begun its foray into Canadian drama by licensing five original Canadian series and movies to be telecast on the network.

Corus receives approval for controlling interest of Telelatino

Corus Entertainment Inc. has received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to acquire controlling interest of Telelatino Network Inc. Corus acquired shares that increase its total interest in the specialty channel to 50.5% from 20%. The shares were purchased in March 2001 from existing shareholders for a total of $11 million (CDN).

Corus' Nelvana expands strategic relationship with Nickelodeon

Nelvana, one of the world's leading animation production, distribution and merchandise licensing companies, today announced the expansion of its strategic relationship with the premium U.S. specialty
service Nickelodeon. The agreement calls for Nickelodeon to license to Nelvana the international distribution rights to two hit Nick series, Taina's World and The Fairly Odd Parents, as well as to renew the currently airing Nelvana-produced shows, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and John Callahan's Pelswick.
