Astral's Family Channel and Disney Junior today announced they have ordered new episodes of four Canadian original productions for the 2011/2012 season. Family Channel has ordered second seasons of the live-action comedies Really Me and What's Up, Warthogs!, from Fresh TV and Dolphin Entertainment/Aircraft Productions respectively, as well as a third season of Temple Street Productions' Wingin'It. Disney Junior has commissioned a second season of the new animated series Justin Time from Guru Studio, for both the English and French language Disney Junior networks. All four series will begin production in Toronto later this summer.

Astral’s Family Channel knows two heads are always better than one as Zack and Cody set out on a new adventure in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Suite Life Movie premiering Friday, March 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Filmed on location in Vancouver, B.C., The Suite Life Movie stars Cole and Dylan Sprouse reprising their role as the mischievous Martin twins. Rounding out the television movie event is an afternoon marathon of The Suite Life on Deck, back-to-back premieres of new episodes of Family favourites and a sneak peek of Family Channel’s new Canadian original series, Really Me.

Astral’s Family Channel will look very different on air and online today as the number one network with kids aged 8-14 unveils a rejuvenated brand identity. The brand refresh coincides with the launch of Family Channel HD, a new network now available free of charge to eligible customers of Bell Satellite TV and Rogers Communications who already subscribe to the Family Channel standard definition service. Family Channel HD is set to launch on Bell Fibe TV and MTS in the coming weeks.

Astral’s Family Channel is giving gifts galore this December with a Twistmas lineup that includes magic mirrors, a Joe Jonas appearance and rockers at sea. All month-long Family is getting into the holiday spirit with new holiday episodes of The Suite Life on Deck, Zeke and Luther and Sonny With A Chance. Also keeping the lineup jolly is a week-long marathon of favourite series, merry movie selections, the season four premiere of Wizards of Waverly Place and a New Year’s Eve lineup that will end the year on a high note. On Family.ca kids can vote on the year’s best episodes for the Viewers Pick Marathon on December 31 and play exclusive Family.ca winter games throughout the month.
