Bobroom, The TBA - Winter 2003 Since their formation in early 1997, sketch troupe The Bobroom have earned themselves a reputation for wildly absurd, relentless, no-holds-barred comedy. Viewers can expect to be kept in stitches and constantly wondering “what will they say next?” Porn, pop culture, incest, and social injustices are just some of The Bobroom‘s favourite sketch topics. The comedy quintet prominently features five very different personalities - Jennifer Baxter, Mike Beaver, Stacey DePass, Jason Jones and Robert Tinkler.
Buzz Fridays @ 10:30pm starting February 5th Season 4 premiere - TV’s bad boys are back with a fourth season of mischief and mayhem from the streets of Canada. Armed with their camera, Daryn Jones and Mista Mo stir up trouble wherever they go. The series surprised everyone with a 2001 Gemini for Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Program or Series against a strong field of nominees, which is even more outstanding considering the series consists of unscripted and impromptu street humour. Spontaneous on-location interviews (with celebrities and non-celebrities alike), zany escapades and hilarious pre-taped segments all add up to what the Ottawa Citizen describes as “pushing the envelope beyond THE TOM GREEN SHOW.” Is that possible? Find out on BUZZ.
Comedy Now! Sundays @ 10pm starting february 16th Season 6 premiere - After five seasons, The Comedy Network’s Gemini-Award winning COMEDY NOW! con-tinues to be the pre-eminent performance showcase for Canadian comedic talent. This year viewers can continue to look forward to comedy specials starring Sean Tweedley, Frank Spadone, Sean Collins, Dan Licoppe, Kate Davis, Steve Patterson, David Acer, David Pryde, Cory Mack, Nikki Payne, Winston Spear, Alex Nussbaum and Tracey MacDonald.

Cameron Hughes and Matt “Flapjack” Hopkins provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the lighter side of sports. Athletes such as Steve Nash, Trevor Linden and Brian Orser appear out of the context for which we know them, as Cam and Matt ask the questions everyday fans would if they had the opportunity to hang out with their favourite sports personalities. Coming up in Season Two: visits to the 2002 Winter Olympics, Molson Indy, NHL Awards, WakeFest, SnowJam and the Bell Canadian Open.
Gavin Crawford Show TBA - Spring 2003 Season 3 premiere - Nominated for three Canadian Comedy Awards, THE GAVIN CRAWFORD SHOW is one of The Comedy Network’s most critically acclaimed original series. “It’s the kind of detailed, gender-bending character comedy that made Tracey Ullman an international hit,” says TV Data. The third season of THE GAVIN CRAWFORD SHOW features fast-paced, character-driven comedy in 13 hilarious new episodes. Set amid a crazy neighbourhood full of oddball characters - almost all of which are played by comic chameleon Gavin Crawford – each episode is distinguished by a theme. Crawford plays dozens of characters, including audience favourites like über-nerd Mark Jackson, fashion designer Uwe Meyer, porn star Hugey McNutts, bike courier Top Knott, yoga guru Michael Michaels and Myrna Howard Hessman, the glamorous sister of naïve librarian Verna Howard. As The Globe and Mail says, it’s “sharp, urbane, allusive satire in the best tradition of KIDS IN THE HALL and SCTV.” Co-starring Marypat Farrell.
Insomniac with Dave Attell TBA - Winter 2003 Season 2 premiere - Comedian and host Dave Attell is the ultimate travel guide to alternative local hot spots, bars and adult-oriented fun-and-games in North America. Just for Laugh - Gags Mondays @ 9:30pm starting february 17th Season 3 premiere
Kevin Spencer Sundays @ 11pm starting february 2nd Greg Lawrence’s KEVIN SPENCER is one of The Comedy Network’s most successful original series. Now entering its sixth season, the series achieves viewership numbers on par with SOUTH PARK and THE SIMPSONS and has attracted acclaim from its underground cult audience and critics too. Indeed, The Toronto Star wrote that KEVIN SPENCER “isn’t just bad-attitude comedy…it’s brilliant social satire about low-lifes, crime and the justice system.” The adult animated series recounts the torments and troubles of a mixed-up, teenaged sociopath - addicted to cough syrup and cigarettes – who just wants to fit in and “straighten things out.” Animated crudely in bright colours, scored with an upbeat soundtrack and narrated like a children’s story, the innocent tone of KEVIN SPENCER is hugely distinctive from the series’ perverse plots and storylines.
Man Show, The TBA - Winter 2003 Season 3 premiere - THE MAN SHOW, the brazenly chauvinistic, comedic celebration of all things male, returns for a third season of male-topia. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, Season Three promises more provocative sketches, more scantily-clad women, more hilarious segments, more hidden camera antics and, what else…The Good Time Party Boys! In the third season, Adam & Jimmy: go “head-to-head” in a race to donate sperm; watch men fish money out of unflushed toilets; introduce sock puppet porn; pose as drunken pilots at an airport; explore breast feeding and introduce a new beer for dogs. Shot in front of a live audience, THE MAN SHOW takes an unapologetic look at things men think, like and do. Flanked by the bodacious Juggy Dance Squad girls, Jimmy and Adam combine sketch comedy, man-on-the-street interviews, celebrity drops-ins and recurring segments such as “Man-O-Vations.” And, as promised, each episode ends with girls jumping on trampolines!
Primetime Glick TBA - Spring 2003 - Sundays @ 9:30pm Returning for its third season, PRIMETIME GLICK stars Martin Short as infamous celebrity interviewer and Hollywood legend Jiminy Glick. The series revolves around a fictitious talk show of the same name. Central to the show is Jiminy's unique interviewing style, which is highlighted by his unbridled enthusiasm, providing a revealing glimpse into the "truths of Hollywood." In addition to in-studio and "Out & About" celebrity interviews, each episode of this critically acclaimed series includes a special monologue, movie and commercial parodies and behind-the-scenes sketches.
