Showcase Diva unveils 2005-2006 programming highlights

New acquisition include "dead Like Me", "Boston Public", "Joan of Arcadia", "Naked Josh", "She Spies", "Show Me Yours" and "The L Word". Repeats of "Charmed" and "CSI Miami" are continuing through the fall.

Boston Public
New Series

(Network Premiere) Weekdays at 10am ET, beginning Sept. 5
This David E. Kelley series is a dramatic and darkly comedic look at the lives of teachers and administrators at Winslow High School in Boston, examining their constant battle to teach hundreds of very troubled students while maintaining a separate and sane life after the bell rings.


Dead Like Me
New Series
(Network Premiere) Fall 2005
Georgia “George” Lass is an unmotivated, 18-year-old cynic who dies tragically when she is hit by a falling piece of space junk. When Rube (Mandy Patinkin), the kindly leader of a group of grim reapers, informs George that she is dead, she sets out to collect as many souls as possible in order to facilitate her move to the next level of the afterlife. In the process of meeting an eclectic group of people who are about to die, she learns more about living while dead than she ever knew about life.


Joan of Arcadia
New Series

Although certain that she's seen a man lurking outside her window, Joan Girardi (Amber Tamblyn) has a hard time convincing her parents -– Will (Joe Mantegna) and Helen (Mary Steenburgen) -- that it’s anything more than just an overactive imagination. o­n her way to school, she’s confronted by a cute teenage boy who claims that he is actually the old man she saw outside her bedroom window, and surprises Joan by announcing that he’s God. Despite her fleeting acquaintance with religion, he makes it clear that he’s singling her out to help him with some of his work o­n Earth.


Naked Josh

This Showcase Original series follows the overdue coming-of-age of Josh Gould (David Julian Hirsh), a young and brilliant Oxford graduate. Emerging from a broken seven-year relationship, Josh returns to Montreal to become the youngest anthropology professor in the history of his university. The series follows Josh as he searches for sex and romantic love in Montreal while teaching a course o­n sexual anthropology.


She Spies
New Series
(Network Premiere) Weekdays at 4pm ET, beginning Sept. 5
Bad girls gone good! When three career criminals are apprehended by the FBI, their o­nly shot at freedom is to use their skills to help the same people who caught them. Natasha Henstridge stars in this series.


Show Me Yours
New Series
(Network Premiere) Fall 2005
This comedy of Eros – and errors – follows Kate Langford, reserved psychologist-turned-author, who must co-write a book about erotica with biologist Ben Chase. Rachael Crawford, Adam Harrington and Alberta Watson star in this Showcase Original series.


The L Word
New Series
(Network Premiere) Fall 2005
This Showtime series examines the romantic, professional, and social exploits of a group of women – some straight, some gay – living in Los Angeles. The series begins when Jenny Schecter, a talented writer, moves to L.A. to be with her boyfriend. When she meets her neighbour’s beautiful friend Marina, however, Jenny starts to question her own sexuality. The L Word boasts a strong ensemble cast including Pam Grier, Jennifer Beals and Eric Mabius.

Battling vampires, ghosts, demons and warlocks, the Halliwell sisters work to vanquish evil and save innocents while living their lives as normal twenty-something women.


CSI: Miami

Saturdays & Sundays at 6 p.m. ET
Set against the steamy, tropical backdrop of Miami, Florida, CSI: Miami follows a team of talented investigators who use cutting-edge scientific techniques, gut instinct and old-fashioned investigative work to collect and analyze crime scene evidence and solve complicated cases.
