A critical hit at this year's Cannes Film Festival, the star-studded biopic skips theatres and premieres Sunday, December 5 at 8 p.m. MT and 9 p.m. ET on pay-TV, day-and-date with HBO. Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush (Shine, Quills) delivers a tour de force performance in this imaginative, eye-opening look at charismatic British actor Peter Sellers, whose brilliant, idiosyncratic gift for mimicry and invention catapulted him to international cultural icon status. The film contrasts Sellers' uncanny ability to adopt the personalities of others with his tortured inability to embrace a personality of his own. The Life and Death of Peter Sellers examines the actor's rise to fame - from his start at BBC Radio to his success in more than 70 movies, including the series of Pink Panther hits and Dr. Strangelove - and his private defeats, including his tempestuous relationships with the women in his life and his erratic self-destructive behaviour.
