NHL Network to Televise 25 NCAA Hockey Games in 2004-05

NHL Network has teamed up with CSTV: College Sports Television, the first 24-hour college sports network, to televise 25 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I hockey games, beginning Friday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET with #5 University of North Dakota @ #2 University of Maine.

NHL Network’s NCAA hockey coverage features a total of 117 Canadian-born players from 15 teams. All games will be produced by U.S.-based CSTV as part of its CSTV Friday Night Hockey game-of-the-week schedule.

NHL Network’s NCAA hockey broadcast schedule includes such heated rivalries as the University of Michigan vs. Michigan State University, Boston College vs. Boston University, Yale University vs. Harvard University, as well as two games featuring the 2004 NCAA Frozen Four champion University of Denver. Coverage also includes the CHA Championship, ECAC Championship and complete coverage of the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four Championship.

NHL Network will also televise the popular NCAA Everblades Classic on December 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The annual tournament features University of Maine vs. Saint Cloud State University, Cornell University vs. Boston College and the championship game between the winners of both match-ups.

NHL Network has confirmed the first 14 games of its NCAA hockey schedule (see below). An additional 11 games will be televised in the new year.
