Programming highlights for 2004-2005.
OLN’s adventurous 2004/05 fall lineup is filled with exciting events and programs, including the Tour de France, Calgary Stampede and Professional Bull Riding, allowing viewers to experience the great outdoors 24 hours a day.
Professional Bull Riding
Hold on tight for at least eight seconds! The prestigious Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series returns to OLN this fall, featuring events from the series’ 29-city U.S. tour. PBR showcases the top 45 bull riders in the world – including the best riders from Canada – as they tangle with hulking, snorting, temperamental bulls weighing as much as 2,200 lbs. In 2003, PBR celebrated its 10th anniversary, becoming the fastest growing extreme sport in America with more than 700 bull-riding members from the U.S., Canada, Brazil and Australia.
Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA)
The Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) returns this year to showcase the top cowboys and rodeos from the professional circuit. The PRCA includes both the winter and summer series, each with 10 Tour stops and the Pro Rodeo Tour Championship finale.
Truth, Duty, Valour!
OLN’s new season of Truth, Duty, Valour! focuses on the raw emotion, pain, grit and determination it takes to be a member of Canada’s military. In different episodes, the show joins the crew of the Navy’s newest submarine as it endures a gruelling combat trial, flies with a NATO aircraft over Europe, dives with Army combat divers, endures combat workouts with the crew of a Canadian frigate, learns to drive the Army's newest armoured vehicles and flies a Hercules aircraft into the combat zone in Afghanistan.
Survivorman
It’s one man’s mission to survive and everyone’s thrill to watch. In September, OLN brings outdoor enthusiasts the debut of the dramatic eight-episode documentary series Survivorman, highlighting the precarious escapades of adventurer Les Stroud as he is sent packing to various remote wilderness locations throughout the world to survive on his own.
All Strength World Cup
The 2004 All Strength World Cup debuts on OLN this fall with 13 one-hour episodes featuring 36 of the world’s strongest men competing for the title of strongest man in the world. Each episode features three competitors lifting, pushing and pulling their way through six events. The competition takes place this summer in Riga, Latvia.
All Strength Nations Challenge
OLN’s popular series, All Strength Nations Challenge, returns for a fifth exciting year. The 13 one-hour episodes feature two pools of four countries (each country is represented by a four-man team) competing in a round-robin tournament with six competitions per round. The winner of each pool advances to the final. The competition takes place from October 16 to 23 in beautiful St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
All Strength Fitness Challenge 2004
You’ve seen male athletes from around the world compete for the All Strength Challenge titles. Now it’s time for the fittest females! Debuting in September on OLN, the All Strength Fitness Challenge 2004 has eight teams of the world’s most athletic females battling it out in Aruba for the coveted female fitness title.
Wild West Tech
OLN takes an inside look at the technology of the Wild West with the three-part series Wild West Tech. Hosted by actor Keith Carradine, Wild West Tech uses expert demonstrations to show how the frontier was transformed and how 19th Century technology laid the groundwork for a hi-tech future. Episodes include Cowboy Tech, Military Tech and Hunting Tech. (Dates and times TBA)
