Canada’s largest kids’ broadcaster, Corus Entertainment, is spreading the February love with new series and specials for kids and their families. Highlights include a week jam-packed with Valentine’s Day-themed programming on YTV.
VALENTINE’S WEEK
From Monday, February 8 until Sunday, February 14 at 6 p.m., YTV counts down to Valentine’s Day with special episodes. The lovey-dovey lineup includes themed episodes from Nickelodeon’s iCarly starring Miranda Cosgrove, How to be Indie starring Canadian starlet Melinda Shankar, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and True Jackson, VP starring Keke Palmer – just to name a few.
Topping it all off, Valentine’s just wouldn’t be the same without the beloved Charlie Brown specials! Tune in as YTV brings viewers of all ages the classics: A Charlie Brown Valentine and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.
A CHARLIE BROWN VALENTINE
The Peanuts gang is looking for love in A Charlie Brown Valentine, airing Saturday, February 13 at 2 p.m. (r) Sunday, February 14 at 8 a.m. Lovesick Charlie Brown hopes – still – to get a valentine from the Little Red-Haired Girl, as does Sally from Linus, Lucy from Schroeder and Peppermint Patty from Charlie Brown.
BE MY VALENTINE, CHARLIE BROWN
Love is in the air, but where are Charlie Brown’s valentines? Though he’s longing for some sort of love poem from the Little Red-Haired Girl, Charlie Brown would settle for a card from anyone! Meanwhile Linus’ crush on his teacher, Miss Othmar, has him desperate to get her just the right Valentine's gift. Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown airs Saturday, February 13 at 2:30 p.m. (r) Sunday, February 14 at 8:30 a.m.
FAMILY DAY ON YTV
On Monday, February 15, YTV is celebrating kindred-connections with a day filled with family-friendly programming fit for every relative. Beginning at 8 a.m., the network jump-starts Family Day with family-themed episodes of viewers’ favourite series including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, iCarly, Drake & Josh and How to be Indie starring Melinda Shankar.
The family affair continues from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on YTV with two back-to-back blockbuster films – Yours Mine & Ours starring Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo followed by Cheaper by the Dozen 2 starring comedians Steve Martin and Eugene Levy.
The fun won’t stop there as YTV takes family fun into the evening with a lineup of family sitcoms. Beginning at
4 p.m. with iCarly, viewers can sit back with their relatives and enjoy back-to-back episodes of Malcolm in the Middle, Everybody Hates Chris featuring comedian Chris Rock, 8 Simple Rules and What I Like About You.

On the eve of his latest project Alice in Wonderland, YTV honours director Tim Burton with three of his hit films back-to-back on Sunday, February 28. The lineup includes:

Former superhero Jack Shepard is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of kids into a new generation of superheroes. Holding an audition filled with would-be members, most of whom possess no real powers, Jack soon hires Dylan, a 17 year-old boy who can turn invisible, Summer, a 16 year-old girl with telekinetic powers, Tucker, a 12 year-old boy with the power to enlarge any part of his body and Cindy, a six- year-old girl with super strength. Starring Tim Allen, Courtney Cox, Chevy Chase and Ryan Newman, Zoom premieres on Friday, February 5 at 7 p.m. as part of YTV’s Big Fun Fridays.
