Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central announced yesterday the launch of Movie Central Interactive (MCi), an interactive guide to Movie Central’s extensive programming schedule offered on a dedicated channel. Available on Bell TV, the service features in depth and long lead scheduling information offering subscribers in Western Canada the ability to find out what’s on, what’s new and what’s coming up weeks in advance.
Movie Central subscribers can use the guide to browse through the schedule – which lists programming from all of Movie Central’s multiplex channels including HBO Canada – by program title or by date to find the most suitable viewing time. The channel also lets users access detailed programming information, set programming reminders and record directly from MCi to a PVR.
“We’re pleased to team up with Bell TV to provide viewers with tools that will make it easy to plan their viewing time and not miss any of the exclusive programming that Movie Central has to offer – including the full HBO Canada lineup of dramas, films, sports and programming events that are incredibly popular with our viewers,” said Andrew Eddy, Vice President Content Distribution and Strategy, Corus Entertainment.
”The Movie Central Interactive scheduling channel is a great example of how Bell TV continues to enhance our subscribers’ TV viewing experience,” said Shawn Omstead, Vice President of Video Products at Bell TV. “Bell TV already brings Canadians the most HD channels, crystal clear picture and sound and now, by partnering with Movie Central, our already industry leading PVRs just got better.”
MCi’s fall schedule lists multiple air times and air dates for Movie Central’s wide-ranging lineup of content including first window television premieres of Hollywood feature films such as Milk, Twilight, The Reader, Role Models and Changeling. Upcoming pay TV series premieres include the seventh season of the popular HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm featuring a Seinfeld cast reunion; a new season of the acclaimed Showtime series Dexter starring Michael C. Hall with John Lithgow joining the cast as well as a new season of Showtime’s Californication starring David Duchovny and HBO’s new comedy series Bored to Death starring Jason Schwartzman, Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson.
MCi is available at no additional cost to Bell TV subscribers on Channel 313 or on Bell TV’s iTV Home channel (channel 275).
