SCREAM rebrands as Dusk: September's Highlights

On 09.09.09 (Wednesday, September 9, 2009), SCREAM will change to become DUSK, a new channel featuring supernatural, thriller and suspense-based Hollywood feature films and television series seven days a week, 24-hours-a-day. To celebrate the launch of the new channel, DUSK is offering a free preview from September 9 to October 9. During the month-long event, DUSK will feature 9 network premieres over 9 nights at 9 p.m. ET beginning on 09.09.09. Viewers will also be able to catch the network premiere of the Showtime series Poltergeist: The Legacy at 6 p.m. on September 9.

DUSK FILM PREMIERES

The Black Dahlia (2006) - Wednesday, September 9 at 9 p.m.
From the acclaimed director of Scarface and the author of LA Confidential, The Black Dahlia takes a film noir look at the famed Black Dahlia murder in Hollywood in the 1940s. Two ambitious cops played by Josh Hartnett and Aaron Eckhart, investigate the shocking murder of an aspiring young starlet. What they uncover is a conspiracy of corruption that leads right to the heart of the LAPD. The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Hilary Swank, Rose McGowan, and Mia Kirshner.

Jagged Edge (1985) - Thursday, September 10 at 9 p.m.
After the brutal murder of his wife at their remote beach house, Jack Forrester (Jeff Bridges) hires his former lawyer Teddy Barnes (Glenn Close) to defend him. At first reluctant to take the case, the high powered attorney has a torrid affair with Forrester but soon questions his innocence as new evidence is found.

Silence of the Lambs (1991) - Friday, September 11 at 9 p.m.
In this modern classic thriller Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), a young intelligent FBI trainee, attempts to match wits with criminally insane inmate Dr. Hannibal “the cannibal” Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant renowned psychiatrist turned infamous psychopathic serial killer. Starling believes he is the only lead to finding the daughter of United States Senator who is being held by a psychopathic serial killer dubbed Buffalo Bill. Silence of the Lambs won the Oscar® for the Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role for Hopkins and Foster, as well as Best Picture and Best Director in 1992.

Skeleton Key (2005) - Saturday, September 12 at 9 p.m.
Set in the dark, atmospheric backwoods of New Orleans, Kate Hudson stars as Caroline Ellis a live-in nurse hired to care for an elderly woman's ailing husband in their home, a foreboding and decrepit Gothic mansion in the Louisiana delta that has been owned by the family since before the civil war. After acquiring a skeleton key, Caroline makes her way into a secret room within the attic where she discovers hair, blood, bones, spells, and other instruments for practicing hoodoo.

The Craft (1996) - Sunday, September 13 at 9 p.m.
Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney), a sixteen year old troubled teenager with a painful past, moves to L.A. with her father and stepmother to start a new life. Sarah, who displays a knack for "the craft" is recruited to join a secret coven of witches formed by Nancy (Fairuza Balk), Bonnie (Neve Campbell) and Rochelle (Rachel True). Casting spells on their classmates and each other, their new powers eventually overwhelm the four girls, leading to an internal power struggle.

Kiss The Girls (1997) - Monday, September 14 at 9 p.m.
Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman), a police forensic psychologist and crime reporter begins a heated investigation after his niece is kidnapped and forcibly inducted into a personal harem by a madman calling himself Casanova. For Cross the key to finding Casanova is Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd), a feisty young doctor and kick-boxing student who escaped from Casanova, but never saw his face or is able to remember where she was held.

Murder By Numbers (2002) - Tuesday, September 15 at 9 p.m.
In this suspense thriller, Canadian Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt play bored rich kids who plan and execute a perfect murder, then watch the police fall for every planted clue. But after the two young men’s relationship is strained over a female classmate, detective Cassie Mayweather (Sandra Bullock) begins to play one off the other and find the evidence she needs to convict the true murderers.

Angel Eyes (2001) - Wednesday, September 16 at 9 p.m.
While pursuing a suspect one night, Chicago Police officer Sharon Pogue (Jennifer Lopez) nearly becomes the victim of a fatal ambush until a mysterious stranger, Catch (Jim Caviezel) a man who's lost his wife and child in a car accident intervenes, disarms the assassin and saves Sharon's life. As the two fall in love, they discover the truth about each other and are forced to deal with the secrets from their past.

Practical Magic (1998) - Thursday, September 17 at 9 p.m.
Sally and Gillian Owens (Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) have always known they were different. Raised by their aunts after their parents' death, the sisters grew up in a household that was anything but typical – with the two sisters learning the secrets of white magic. But the Owens women have always known the strength that comes from the use of this practical magic also carries a price. All the men the sisters fall in love with die untimely deaths. Now adult women with very different personalities, the quiet Sally and the fiery Gillian must use all of their powers to fight the family curse and a swarm of supernatural forces that threatens the lives of all the Owens women.

Poltergeist: The Legacy airs daily at 6 p.m. beginning September 9
Archaeologist Dr. Derek Rayne is the leader of San Francisco Legacy house, an ancient organization dedicated to collecting dangerous knowledge and using it to protect mankind from the forces of supernatural evil. Founded in England in the 6th century, the Legacy expanded around the world and established branches known as Legacy houses. Dr. Rayne leads his team which is made up of a gifted psychiatrist Rachel Corrigan, the group's spiritual guide Father Philip Calahan, brilliant researcher Alex Moreau and the adventurous Nick Boyle. With their considerable resources, both financial and technological, the team explores the mysterious realms of the paranormal.
