OLN brings viewers fast-paced, exclusive nightly coverage of Tour de France 2009. Watch as top cyclists representing 20 countries from around the world compete in this prestigious sporting event where only one will be awarded the coveted yellow jersey.
This year’s tour begins in Monaco and will stop off in France, Spain, Andorra, Switzerland and detour into Italy as the riders make their way through 21 challenging stages. In the ultimate test of strength and endurance 10 flat stages, 7 mountain stages, 3 summit finishes, 1 medium mountain stage, 2 individual time-trial stages, 1 team-trial stage, 2 rest days and 3500 kilometres stand between the competitors and total victory. As an added level of difficulty, this year’s route marks the first time riders will face a mountain on the penultimate day of the race.
Hot off of his first win since his return to cycling at the Nevada City Classic in California, Lance Armstrong returns to compete in this year’s Tour. Can Lance reclaim his place at the top of the pack or will another rider triumph above the rest?
