Programming highlights for the 2003-2004 season.

The Biography Channel is built on the massive success of A&E’s Biography, the most widely recognized brand on specialty television. The channel takes viewers into the world of captivating people 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Biography Channel aims to inform, surprise, and stimulate its viewers by giving them an insider’s look at the lives of exceptional people. The channel offers an eclectic blend of revealing profiles, engaging biographical movies, compelling documentaries and entertaining specials. The Biography Channel offers viewers a unique perspective and uncommon understanding of famous people and the times in which they flourished, from yesterday's faces to the big names of today. The Biography Channel has captivating stories for everyone!

Here are some interesting findings from a recent survey conducted by the Canadian Media Research inc:
-The Biography Channel was #1in awareness of all the digital channels.
-90% surveyed were either very satisfied or satisfied with the channel.
-The Biography Channel leads in weekly viewership

Talent:
The Biography Channel is pleased to announce that Kurt Browning will continue working with the channel this fall as a regular host. The Olympian and four-time Figure Skating World Champion made his debut on the channel this past April with much anticipation and words of encouragement from his wide reaching fan base. This is Kurt’s first relationship with a television channel.

"Working with The Biography Channel brings an entirely new dimension to my career," said Kurt Browning. "I look forward to offering my own perspective and experiences as an athlete and celebrity to the biographies I will be introducing"

September is back-to-school month on The Biography Channel! In order to celebrate this new year of learning or the fact that the kids are out of the house, we have lined up a month long of biographies that are sure to peak your interest and tickle your mind! Make sure to tune in every night at 8pm ET/PT

Also launching in september is a brand new block of programming called Bio for Kids. Every Saturday and Sunday morning at 9am ET, The Biography Channel brings the classroom to your living room with its one-hour block of Television that Teaches. Every week kids can tune in to hear the inspirational and educational stories of a wide variety of interesting individuals from explorers and inventors, to sports heroes and artists.

"Bio-by-Day” offers a back-to-back mix of inspirational, entertaining, spiritual and captivating biographies. The daytime programming block captures the stories of famous personalities from every walk of life whose personal struggles of triumph and tragedy inspire us all.

Our Stories will deliver a closer, more in depth look at our diverse country, its past, present and the people that make it so great. This all-Canadian programming block will capture the essence and spirit of what makes up Canada from Coast to Coast.

Connections. Make sure to tune in for our weekly themed programming events from Monday to Thursday at 8pmET/PT. Every week The Biography Channel weaves together an incredible line-up of attention-grabbing biographies all linked together by a common thread.
Bio-on-Demand. Friday nights at 8pm ET/PT, The Biography Channel turns the tables on their viewers and asks them to play the role of TV Programmer . Each week viewers can interact with The Biography Channel by voting online at www.thebiographychannel.ca for which bio they would most like to see that week.
Famous Faces: You know their faces. You know their names. But what do you really know about them. Weeknights at 9pm ET/PT The Biography Channel takes their viewers beyond the headlines and delivers a behind the scenes look at some of the hottest stars from today and yesterday.
History Majors: Weeknights at 10pm ET/PT, The Biography Channel dedicates an entire hour to chronicling the life stories of some of histories most interesting, impactful and influential individuals.
After Hours provides viewers with a look at the edgier, darker and sinister side of The Biography Channel, by featuring an eclectic mix of biographies, movies and documentaries.

Saturday Night: Uncovered. Every Saturday night starting at 8pm ET/PT, The Biography Channel is committed to presenting to its audience a new and engaging perspective on people. Each week viewers can expect three hours of personal, diverse and stimulating documentaries that are equally entertaining as they are educational.

New series coming to The Biography Channel:

Gzowski in Conversation (series) with notable Canadians such as Wayne Gretzky, Donald Sutherland, Natalie McMaster and Christopher Plummer.

New Bios: Here are just some of names coming to The Biography Channel this fall; Ariel Sharon, Diane Keaton, Tom Clancy, Robert Duval, The Saudi Royal Family, Keanu Reeves and Bernie Mac.

The Cold Case Files investigates the pursuit and resolution of long-unsolved cases. The episodes follow the detectives and the family members whose undying devotion is the difference between bringing justice to the crime victims and having their loved ones lost in the drawers of the cold case files.

City Confidential: Each city has tales to tell. This series presents fascinating, bizarre, funny and very human stories from cities across America, told through lush cinematography, atmospheric storytelling and insightful interviews

ROLE REVERSAL:
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be the opposite sex? In this groundbreaking program, two men and two women come together for an incredible experiment that puts gender stereotypes to the test--they swap sexes to see for themselves! Isolated from friends and family for one month, they undergo a sexual identity boot camp and learn to speak, act, and move as the opposite sex, then go out in public to face a series of difficult and often hilarious social situations.
