Following the series premieres of Breeder of the Pack on Animal Planet and The Chef’s Domain on Travel + Escape, both will air on CTV this autumn.

Breeder of the Pack, a five-part series profiling Canadian dog breeders making their mark in the canine world will be seen on Saturday afternoons starting on October 4 at 2:30 pm ET in a time slot programmed by Animal Planet. The Chef’s Domain, an entertaining cross-Canada culinary adventure series that follows the journey of one exceptional chef per episode who acts as guide and advocate of the suppliers who provide them with local bounty will be seen on Saturday afternoons starting on November 22 at 1 PM ET in a time slot programmed by Travel + Escape.

“We’re very proud of these two series,” says Lively Executive Producer Leanna Crouch, “and delighted that they have found a home on CTV, which means more viewers will now see these shows, and that’s always a thrill for us.”

Highlights from Breeder of the Pack include:

Breeder of the Pack– “A Tail of Three Hounds”
Premieres Saturday, October 4 at 2:30 pm ET

Debra Hull breeds her Basset Hounds to be top competitors in the show ring, and she doesn’t approve of second place. Whether it’s winning a show title or landing a role in a Hollywood movie, Hull expects her hounds to earn their keep.

Breeder of the Pack– “Bred to Hunt”
Saturday, October 11 at 2:30 pm ET

Dressed in camouflage, toting a rifle, surrounded by her champion Nova Scotia Duck Tollers, Sue Kish is not your typical breeder. She’s on a mission most dog breeders have forsaken: to maintain a dog’s natural instincts to hunt.

Breeder of the Pack– “Doyenne of the Dogues”

The Dogue de Bordeaux have twice been brought to the brink of extinction, first at the hands of French Revolutionaries and then under threat from Nazi soldiers. Breeder of the Pack– “The Small Dog on Canine Campus”
Saturday October 25 at 2:30 pm ET

Lucinda Glenny has over 25 years of experience breeding, training and competing with dogs, but Chihuahuas are her new obsession. Sonic is Glenny’s first Chihuahua, and under her training, the wee pup is the only Chihuahua in Canada to earn a “Rally-O” title at a dog show!

Breeder of the Pack– “Poodle Pandemonium”
Saturday November 1 at 2:30 pm ET

Ever since their bow-tie sporting poodle Uther walked Heather down the aisle and gave her away with a bark, Heather and Greg Pendragon have been passionate about breeding their plethora of poodles. Their happy brood has now expanded to close to 16 pooches, but an impending litter will bring even more pups under their one roof!

Highlights from The Chef’s Domain include:

The Chef’s Domain – “Chef Vikram Vij of Vancouver”
Saturday November 22 at 1 pm ET

At the heart of Vancouver’s culinary Mecca is local legend, Chef Vikram Vij. But this European-trained chef doesn’t hide in the kitchen. He’s not even in charge of the menu. That’s the purview of his self-taught wife Meeru Dhalwala. Vij and Dhalwala adore each other, but that doesn’t mean they get along in the kitchen! Now, for the first time in years, Vij and Dhalwala are going to cook together professionally – and it’s anyone’s guess how it will go.

The Chef’s Domain – “Chef Nancy Hinton of Montreal”

Quebec is famous for its joie de vivre, hidden treasures and bursting conviviality and just outside of Montreal, one of rural Quebec’s best-kept secrets is the woodland retreat À la Table des Jardins Sauvages. The weekly menus are based on seasonally available wild ingredients collected by owner and master forager François Brouillard, who passes them on to his partner in life and business, Chef Nancy Hinton. In this episode, follow her on a challenge to prepare the annual, always over-subscribed, Spring Fiddlehead Menu.

Calgary is a cosmopolitan city where restaurants are springing up with big-name chefs in charge. In the heart of downtown Calgary, Chef Scott Pohorelic presides over the River Cafe, which features Canadian cuisine made from local organic ingredients. In this episode, we follow Chef Scott Pohorelic as he prepares a surprise anniversary feast for his wife of five years.

The Chef’s Domain – “Chef Edward Tuson of Sooke, BC”
Saturday December 13 at 1 pm ET

On the southwestern shores of Vancouver Island, Sooke is blessed with stunning scenery and a year-round growing season. Chef Edward Tuson calls it a "chef's paradise" – one that has helped make his cuisine at Sooke Harbour House an international success for the last 12 years. Edward works under a strict "100 km rule" for every ingredient, but in this episode, Chef Tuson steps out of the Harbour House kitchen for a more rustic, improvisational event: one of his locally renowned barn dinners.

The Chef’s Domain – “Chef Tak Ishiwata of St. John’s”
Saturday December 20 at 1 pm ET

Within a few hours' drive of St. John's, Newfoundland, icebergs, whales and wildlife are commonplace – not that Chef Tak Ishiwata has had much time to go looking for them. For the past three years, he's been far too busy running one of the city's most innovative restaurants, Basho. Now, in celebration of Basho's third anniversary, Tak knows he must conceptualize a crowd-drawing dinner that leaves customers salivating for more.
