The 2007 AFC West Division winning San Diego Chargers take on the Carolina Panthers in NFL action on Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD on Sunday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. (ET)/1:00 p.m.(PT).

The Chargers finished last season by winning their last six regular season games and rode that streak into the playoffs, before losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game 21-12. Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson will see his first action of the season as he did not play during San Diego's four pre-season games. He hopes to reclaim his crown as the NFL rushing leader and challenge once again for the NFL Most Valuable Player Award. Tomlinson captured the award in 2006 but lost out to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady last season.

The Carolina Panthers are coming off a disappointing 2007 season where they finished 7-9 and out of the playoffs. They have only made the playoffs once since their Super Bowl appearance in 2003. Panthers' quarterback Jake Delhomme is back to lead the team after suffering a season-ending injury during Carolina's third game of the season last year.
