Four original Canadian programs produced in association with the multi-faith and multicultural network VisionTV have received nominations for the 23rd Annual Gemini Awards, which recognize the year's best in Canadian English-language television.

The documentary Charging the Rhino has been nominated for Best History Documentary Program.
The hour-long production follows Canadian filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici to Romania, where he confronts the tragic history of the country's Jewish community and the impact of these events on his own family.
Charging the Rhino was produced by Toronto-based Associated Producers, and premiered on VisionTV in November 2007. The producers were Simcha Jacobovici, Ric Esther Bienstock, Felix Golubev and Alberta Nokes.
The documentary Long Haul, Big Hearts has been nominated for Best Science, Technology, Nature, Environment or Adventure Documentary Program.
The hour-long film, which premiered on VisionTV in July 2007, documents the one-man errand of mercy mounted by Bowmanville, Ont. trucker Peter Bruno, who shipped much-need relief supplies to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Long Haul, Big Hearts was produced for VisionTV by Brilliant Red Media. The producers were Doug Raby, Joanne P. Jackson and Joan Jenkinson.
The Protestant Revolution earned a Gemini nomination for Best Photography in a Documentary Program or Series. Martin Julian and Mike Carling received the nomination for episode one, "The Politics of Belief."
The four-part series, which examines the social, cultural, political and economic change unleashed by the birth of Protestantism, premiered on VisionTV in October 2007.
The Protestant Revolution was produced by IWC Media Limited and Cream Productions Inc. for VisionTV.
The series Recreating Eden has been nominated for Best Original Music for a Lifestyle/Practical Information or Reality Program or Series. Shawn Pierce earned the nomination for the episode "A Life in a Landscape," which premiered on VisionTV in March 2008.
Recreating Eden, a spiritual gardening series that presents intimate portraits of inspired gardeners from across Canada and around the world, is produced for VisionTV by Merit Motion Pictures.
