More Details About TVTropolis Fall 2008 Programming

In early june, Canwest revealed information about fall programming [1] of its specialty channels. Today, we give more details about the new and returning programming as well as premiere dates (when available).

Fall 2008 BRAND NEW SERIES

Planet Soap (13x30min) World Premiere
Tuesdays at 6pm and 8pm ET beginning September 2
With sexy shenanigans, weird and wonderful story plots, dark intrigues, tearful revelations, betrayals and bust-ups – soaps are a genre loved by millions. The brand new original series Planet Soap celebrates the world of soap operas. Examining topics like “the most vicious catfights in soap history”, each half hour episode will also feature soap star favourites sharing their best and worst moments in the profession.

Reality Obsessed (13x30min) World Premiere
Premiere episode airs Wednesday, September 3 at 6pm ET/PT and 8pm ET beginning
Mondays at 10:30pm ET/PT beginning September 8
Reality Obsessed follows the adventures of Murtz Jaffer – Canada’s most dedicated and obsessed fan of reality TV – as he takes his fandom to the extreme, tracking down celebrities, producers, agents, studio executives and fellow reality-obsessed viewers across North America. From Survivor to The Amazing Race, each half hour episode has Murtz digging up behind-the-scenes gossip and secrets, bringing viewers along for the ride.

King of Queens, Season One (25x30min) Network Premiere
Tuesdays from 4pm - 5:30pm ET and 10:30pm ET beginning September 2
Blue-collar married couple, Doug, a deliveryman, and Carrie, a secretary at a law firm, have a pretty good life, with a big TV and friends to watch it with. But when Carrie’s goofy and annoying father Arthur moves in, they’re forced to make the best of what they got.
Starring Kevin James, Leah Remini, Jerry Stiller.

That 70’s Show, Season One (25x30min) Network Premiere
Wednesdays from 4 - 5:30pm ET beginning September 3
The hit comedy revolving around a group of teenage friends, their mishaps, and their coming of age, set in 1970s Wisconsin comes to Tvtropolis this fall.

Everybody Loves Raymond, Season One (22x30min) Network Premiere
Mondays at 4pm – 5:30pm ET beginning September 1
Ray Barone seemingly has it all. A wonderful wife, a beautiful family, a great job, a nice house on Long Island. There's only one problem. His obnoxious parents (who live across the street) and his jealous brother are always getting in the way.
Starring Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, Peter Doyle, Brad Garrett.

American Dad, Season Four (15x30min) Network Premiere
Saturdays at 7pm ET beginning September 6
The animated comedy follows CIA agent Stan Smith as he does everything in his power to protect his family from possible terrorist threats – in the most absurd ways possible.
Starring Seth MacFarlane, Wendy Schaal, Rachael MacFarlane, Scott Grimes.

Make Or Break TV (13x30min) World Premiere
Mondays at 9pm ET beginning September 7

Friends, Season Four (24x30min) Network Premiere
Weekends at 3-4pm and 8-9pm ET beginning September 6
Friends follows the ardent adventures of New York twentysomethings Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe - the often imitated, over-caffeinated sextet whose riotous run-ins with careers ("He's a transponster!"), romance ("We're on a break.") and ugly, naked neighbours make for some of the most memorable and quotable comedy ever to grace a TV.

Frasier, Seasons Five and Six (48x30min) Network Premiere
Thursdays at 4-5:30pm ET beginning September 4
The hit comedy Frasier stars Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane, host of a Seattle radio advice show at KACL. His peaceful home life was shattered when his gruff, ex-cop father, Martin, moves in with Frasier. Martin brought with him a, live-in home-care provider, Daphne Moon, his pesky dog, Eddie, and a duct-taped recliner. Their home is frequently visited by Frasier's snobbish brother, Niles and at work, his slightly jaded producer and man-hungry single parent Roz Doyle, supports him.

Beverly Hills 90210, Seasons Eight and Nine (58x60min) Network Premiere
Tuesdays – Thursdays at 7pm ET beginning September 2
Seasons eight and nine of 90210 are filled with memorable cast additions and returns as well as some farewells. In season eight, Brandon and Kelly struggle as a couple and Donna battles an addiction to painkillers. In season nine, Brandon leaves to take a job with the New York Chronicle in Washington DC and Valerie decides to leave Beverly Hills and return to Buffalo with her Mother. The gang receives a big thanksgiving surprise when Dylan rolls into town and Donna’s cousin Gina Kincaid stops in to cause some trouble.

Family Guy, Season Seven (14x30min) Network Premiere

The “freakin’ sweet” life of the Griffin family – not-too-bright patriarch Peter, wife Lois, their teenage kids, maniacal baby Stewie and martini-sipping canine Brian – and their animated adventures, accented with hilarious pop culture riffs, flashbacks and side-splitting asides. TVtropolis continues to be the exclusive cable broadcaster for this series.

Whatever Happened To?, Season Three (26x30min) World Premiere
Weekdays at 8:30pm ET beginning September 1
