SportsNet Announces its Calgary Flames Broadcast Schedule Sports Programming / Rogers Sportsnets Posted by RAD on Aug 21, 2008 - 08:31 PM Rogers Sportsnet West will make history this year broadcasting the most Calgary Flames regular-season games in the network’s 10-year history with 46. The Battle of Alberta will be front and centre when the Flames make their 2008-2009 regular-season debut on Sportsnet West as they host the Edmonton Oilers Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. (MT). Both teams will also meet in pre-season action at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m. (MT). Sportsnet West’s Telus Flames Hockey broadcast schedule will feature more games than any other Canadian broadcaster, including 46-regular season match-ups and two pre-season games beginning with a trip to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg to face the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday, September 24 at 6 p.m. MT. Peter Loubardias will provide the play-by-play call while former National Hockey Leaguers Charlie Simmer and John Garrett will share the analyst duties. Roger Millions will host Telus Flames Hockey on Sportsnet West. Flames general manager Darryl Sutter has bolstered the lineup for the ’08-’09 season by adding speed, strength and size with the off season acquisitions of Mike Cammalleri, Todd Bertuzzi, Curtis Glencross and Rene Bourque.
