Grand Slam MLB Coverage on Rogers SportsNet With Blue Jays Season Opener

The Toronto Blue Jays open their 2008 season on Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD when they take on the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium Monday, March 31 at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT.

The two clubs are back at it on Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD Wednesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.

The Jays close out the first full week of the season with a three-game homestand versus the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox beginning with the home opener at Rogers Centre Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT. All three games with the Red Sox are on Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD.

These five games are the first of 100 regular season Jays on Rogers Sportsnet broadcasts all also available in high definition on Sportsnet HD.

Jamie Campbell has the play-by-play while former Jay Pat Tabler supplies the analysis. Sam Cosentino rounds out the on-air team with live reports in-game from the scout’s seats.

The Jays action is just part of the fun on Sportsnet for the first full week of the 2008 MLB season.

Sportsnet gets in full swing Sunday, March 30 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT with Jays Connected MLB Preview Show hosted by Evanka Osmak. Sportsnet baseball expert Ken Rosenthal contributes to the show which focuses on the AL East with a special emphasis on the Toronto Blue Jays. Jamie Campbell and Pat Tabler report from New York on the day before the Jays season opener.

The preview show is followed by a 30-minute all-access look at the 2008 Toronto Blue Jays on The Season – ’08 Jays at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT. The show features exclusive player interviews including B.J. Ryan on his efforts to rehabilitate his injured arm. Alex Rios takes time to discuss off-season trade rumours and Roy Halladay questions his team’s lack of urgency in past seasons. Vernon Wells also takes time out from his family to break down why he struggled in 2007.

The Season is followed by the opening edition of Sunday Night Baseball as the Washington Nationals host the Atlanta Braves at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet HD.
