Anne Murray - Friends and Legends, A New Musical Celebration With Top Female Vocalists Programming Highlights / CBC Posted by RAD on Mar 17, 2008 - 09:48 AM ANNE MURRAY - FRIENDS & LEGENDS is a star-studded musical celebration with the legendary Anne Murray and some of the world's top female vocalists, including Jann Arden, Martina McBride, Nelly Furtado, Olivia Newton-John, k.d. lang, Emmylou Harris, Celtic Woman and Celine Dion. It telecasts on CBC Television, Monday, March 24, at 8 p.m. This new special features a rare behind-the-scenes peek into the recording studio process; candid interviews with Murray and her duet partners; and dazzling performances of Murray's best loved classic songs. Her newest album, the hugely successful Duets (EMI), which has recently gone double platinum, is the inspiration for the special. Duets include Olivia Newton-John on Cotton Jenny, Jann Arden on Somebody's Always Saying Goodbye, Nelly Furtado on Daydream Believer, daughter Dawn Langstroth on Nobody Loves Me Like You Do and I Just Fall in Love Again, k.d. lang on A Love Song, Celine Dion on When I Fall in Love, Celtic Woman on Song For The Mira, Martina McBride on Danny's Song and Emmylou Harris on Another Pot O' Tea. In addition to the performances, her duet partners candidly express their feelings about singing with Murray, their memories of her performances and what influences she has had on their careers.
