New Series Takes A Look Into at the Lives of Independent Pro Wrestlers New Programs / The Fight Network Posted by RAD on Oct 04, 2007 - 02:56 PM Wrestling Reality (WR) is a 6 half hour episode reality documentary series about the life of independent pro wrestlers on the road. Independent pro wrestling should not be confused with over-glamorized big budget WWF wrestling; this is the real thing, wrestling in its truest form…low budget, seedy and REAL! WR will document the adventure, the personality conflicts, the successes, the failures, the passion and the business of independent professional wrestling. WR will follow a core of 4 wrestlers who have been working together for years. The film crew will document this group as they prepare for the nightly events. Not only will the fights be featured in each episode, the outside –of-ring lives of these characters from late night parties to business dealings will be captured in a real fast paced, action packed style. It will be gritty, greasy and full of personality. WR will document many wrestlers from around the globe. However, this series will focus on a core of four Canadian pro wrestlers; Rick Doyle, Peter Smith, Gary Gallant and Mike Hughes. These four wrestlers will be our main characters throughout all the seasons of this series. The unfolding action will be the trials and tribulations, failures and successes, responsibilities and abuses of a group of testosterone filled men on the road, supporting themselves out of pocket, trying to make a living doing what their passion is. We will see characters trying to be responsible for their families and their careers at the same time dealing with the pressures such as drug abuse and living the “rock star” lifestyle. We will see this group of passionate men who share the common dream of being the best wrestlers they can be, deal with each other’s egos, each other’s issues and personal baggage at the same time supporting each other in a brotherhood bond that is stronger than any of their differences. Wrestling Reality will be the first television series EVER to document the lives of independent pro wrestlers outside the ring. This is the REAL wrestling, with REAL people behind the characters. There may be an act inside the ring, but certainly not outside of it. WR will be the first television documentary / reality series that will expose the truths, tricks, and misconceptions about wrestling…all told by the wrestlers themselves. The wrestling fan community has been begging for a show like this for years, now they are going to get it. This exciting new series will premiere on november 15th on The Fight Network.
